Choice, consequences and lessons

One time at my sister's, we were in the kitchen making dinner when she brought up a discussion concerning a lady who recently befriended her. We were actually talking about women in general, our body and how women don't age. We spoke about menopause, we spoke about motherhood and then we talked about marriage. It was at the point we were talking about marriage that she immediately remembered the lady. So she brought her up and we quickly switched topics.

"Women really do not age when they take good care of themselves." My sister said to me, reaching for a medium sized bowl at the top of her cabinet. She continued, this time referring to me "you see that thing you used to always say to me? That one man's food is another man's poison?"

"Yes? Go on." I responded, urging her to spill already.

She smiled then went on with her narration. "Well, there's this woman that I met in a salon where I went to get my hair done. She just moved into the area and we instantly bonded over one of those salon's gossip. Later on, she started gisting me and the hairstylist on how it's a woman with no self worth that will put up with a man that doesn't value her."

Immediately I heard that last line, I got really interested in the woman and sought to know her story. I resonate with women who won't put up with less nor look down on themselves. Initially I had felt the woman must have her life together and on track too but boy was I wrong. As my sister narrated her story, I became disappointed and less interested.

I started wondering how a woman in her 40s could have made so many mistakes and still repeating the exact actions that led to those supposed mistakes.

From my sister's narration, the woman is a single mother of three boys from different fathers and currently pregnant with the fourth for another different man.

At one point in the story, I had to stop my sister to ask her if it's a movie or real life occurrence and she yelled, "it's real".

I got really troubled with her situation even when it's none of my business. Her situation was so pathetic that I couldn't help but wonder how she's the one fending for her boys with no help from any of their fathers and then she's pregnant again for a man based on promises.

The whole story even got more weird when my sister told me that after she left her last baby daddy with her three boys, she was putting up with a man who drives a taxi. According to the story that the woman narrated to my sister, the taxi driver had fertility issues so it was difficult for her to get pregnant. They were working on it with a fertility doctor when they both had an argument one night and she left the house to be with a random man.

A man she claimed was having similar issues with her as his wife was also infertile and he's looking for a child. In no time, this woman started having an affair with the man which resulted in pregnancy. The moment she got pregnant, the man rented and furnished an apartment for her, prompting her to move again with her boys. She left the taxi driver with no trace to locate her by.

I gave my sister a long stir and when she got done narrating, I asked a simple question, "so in all this madness, what does the woman do for a living?"

"Nothing, she has never worked all her life. It is the men she ends up with that cares for her and her children".

"How old did you say this woman is again?"

"She's 40, why?"

"Nothing, I just needed to be sure I got the age right because damn! Maturity does not come with age".

"Well at least she hit it big this time because the man she's currently pregnant for is a cousin to the governor".

"Oh really? Well I doubt but, why is he not setting her up with a business or something? Definitely a cousin to the governor should be just as rich." I had concluded not knowing that my sister had the same thing in mind. She said the man had told the lady that if it's a boy, he will settle her.

I started wondering what if it's not? To not drag the matter any further, I told my sister it will end badly for the lady unless she aborts the child before it's too late.

Recently, I asked my sister about her and she asked me to go open a church because of how well I can analyze the future with situations like that of the woman.

I was curious for the details and my sister did well to fill me in. She briefed me on how the man started acting funny and stopped caring for the lady and her children. It got to a point, the lady started begging to feed and eventually lost the pregnancy.

On hearing that she lost the pregnancy, the man got furious and accused her of aborting it. It got really messy and she had to go into hiding with her children to escape the man's wrath.

Things are really happening.
Imagine having three babies from different men and none of them is settled with her.
It all boils down to how she's not ready to work for money. Too much dependency on men

Yeah exactly, once a man builds her life around a man, stories like this are the outcome.

And who knows what next mistake she's going to make in her hiding?
Making a mistake once or twice is quite understandable, not 3-4 times.

Only God knows what she's currently doing in hiding o, if she's not with the taxi man or another random one... Only God will help her.

Women shouldn't depend on men for money. There's always dignity in labor.

Yes you are right..... Thank you Amie 🤗

You're welcome

It is a very sad story. I know many women who are like the protagonist of your story: they have children from every man and they are the ones who support her. It's the 21st century and this kind of behavior exists. Greetings

It's quite sad, I mean with all the civilization and awareness? Well, all the best to her.

From begging could probably see any other shoot who would be willing to take her in.. Its already her way of life and so she would find away.
