The Hand Game.

St. Louis college has been expecting the Nigerian Ministry of Education for their yearly approval and teacher’s examination for since the beginning of the year.

Bangs on the gate “We are from the Ministry of education for the yearly approval of St. Louis college” Bashiru, the school’s security officer checks their identity card each, calls the principal, Mr Ogunleti for their approval before letting them in.

Suddenly, Mrs Moses enters the class and tells the students to behave themselves especially the students of Year two class as they are the most stubborn students in the whole school.

“Chloe, make sure that you write names of noisemakers so I’ll discipline them when our visitors leave,” Mrs Moses hurriedly leaves the class to arrange her desk and the whole office.

The classmates are scared of Chloe, the class captain and what will be done to them if they break the rule given by Mrs Moses. Instead of talking, they form signs with their hands so their partners can understand that they meant.

“Why not let us play a game without making noise? The class with even be more fun that way?” Fendi takes one of Mrs Moses marker at the edge of the board, draws the picture of a palm and writes numbers in the littlest and tiniest way for anyone to see.

“What kind of game is this?,” Chloe asks Fendi and he explains that it’s a game where you will be given a number to look for and a time frame of ten seconds. If you win, you have a point and if you lose, your point is reduced.

“This will be fun,” everyone in the class gets shocked as the most gentle girl in class shows interest for the game.
The game starts and is going well that even the closest class to them will never know something is occurring.

“Who knows how to refill a marker? The ink is finished,” Fendi cries out as the roughest boy in class, Davies rasies his hand. The two students takes Mrs Moses ink marker refiller and while shaking it before opening, the ink splashes out of the bottle and stains the uniform of three other students alongside Davies and Fendi.

“I said it. I don’t even know why you let Davies do it in the first place. We know how rough he can be,” Aishat screams aloud because the ink stained her uniform as well and her strict mum will spank her.

“What do you mean? I was trying to help so that the fun doesn’t stop but you’re here talking like I intentionally splashed the ink on you…” David screams and downstairs, the ministry of education team that came were aware that something was happening.

Chloe and some other classmates tears sheet of paper each to clean were the ink has stained but it keeps getting worse alongside the uniforms that got stained by the ink already.
Mrs Moses stylishly excuses herself from the team members of the ministry of education and walks up to her classroom.
Suddenly, all the students ran back to their various seats, some pretend to be asleep while Chloe holds a fake noise maker list to impress Mrs Moses and show that she’s doing her work diligently.

“What’s going on here?” Mrs Moses goes straight to Chloe to ask her why the class is looking disorganized and stained with ink. Chloe on the other hand doesn’t want to get spanked but points straight at Fendi and says; “he’s the one”.

Immediately, she calls one of the school cleaners to come tidy up the class, took the ones who got stained to the home economics laboratory so their uniforms can washed with the machine, dried immediately and heads back to the class.
On their way going back to the class, Mrs Moses was shocked to see the officials screening the class and throwing some questions at the students already.

“Your class looks very clean and the ones who are just are just coming in have the neatest uniforms,” Mrs Moses was so happy to hear that and the officials awarded her class as the most organized class in the whole school.

After the officials left, all the students in the class gets spanked by Mrs Moses and a week’s suspension with the approval of the principal.

Even though the games the students played while Mrs Moses was away led to something beautiful, Mrs Moses still made sure to punish her students so they know how to comport themselves in class and not make the same mistake again.
