No way. Oh my sweet..., I got the tickets to Finland? Unbelievable, screamed Tina who enrolled in a lottery weeks ago and was shocked that she was amongst the 5 winners to enjoy an expense paid tour to Finland.
As a little child, Tina has always loved the plans and arrangements made to change her location once in a while. This one lucky break staring a her from her PC would be an adventure she'd explore to the last. She was sure or it.
'Tina are you OK dear?', called out her mom who raced up to the door of the room containing her third child and only daughter alerted by the squeaking sound she heard.
'Mom, remember when you told me you'd grant my request when I clock 20 which will be tomorrow? Well, I know what I want now'
'OK dear, go ahead. Tell mummy what you want', her mother replied happily.
'I won a free tour to Finland, all expense paid and I want you to allow me honor this travel, ma', Tina anxiously replied.
Keeping her fingers crossed behind her, Tina dreaded the answer she would get from her mother. A strict yet understanding mother hen her mummy was. She has always restricted Tina from many adventurous movements except the ones she went on with her family saying it was all for her well-being.
It was still very fresh and vivid in her memory when she asked her mother for permission to go on a road trip with her friends miles from her residing city. She got a very big NO as an answer and really risked getting grounded for weeks when she engaged in a heated argument afterwards.
'Oh T, I wish I could tell you what you need to...' her mother began but was cut short
'Mom, the timing is really perfect because the plane leaves in the next two weeks and the ticket I won will be expiring in the next, uhm, let me check...48hrs' , Tina butts in
'Besides I'm turning 20, she added. 'I think you and dad have both trained me well enough to behave myself especially when I leave your sight. Please mom, this would mean a whole lot to me', she ended gesturing with her hands a sign of plea.
'I wanted to say, we'll have your dad's consent first before you're allowed to travel. When your papa returns from work, we will both talk to him and what ever he says is what we'll abide by, OK?'
'Thank you so much mummy. You are the best', Tina said while hugging her mom.
Minutes after dinner, mom dad and daughter (Tina) settled to contemplate on her adventure taking a stand or a No which she was quite very familiar with.
'Dad, I won an expense paid tour to Finland and I was thinking of exploring this one but I need your consent as well as mummy's'.
'And what did your mom say this time?' asked Tina's dad.
'She wants your say to be the final and only consent to be abided by' replied Tina also anxiously. 'And I'll be turning 20 too dad'.
'Alright dear, you can go ahead but once you act waywardly, I'll restrict you from stepping a foot out of this house'
With the speed of light, Tina flopped on her dad and thanks him while wrapping her hands on his neck in an embrace. And her mom too...
