"The unemployment rate in the country amongst the youth is now a whopping 49%. With numerous graduates being produced every year — if not every month, by the higher institutions in the country, one would wonder what these young graduates would be doing to earn a living. The government has made it known that the first degree is no longer competitive in the labour market." Those were the sounds coming from the television as John and his dad sat in the sitting room watching the 7:00 pm news.

Your story shares the challenges of growing up and attempting to enter adulthood and the working world. These are big steps, and it is especially challenging in areas where there are not plentiful jobs and there are many people seeking them. This story makes me want to go back to school! Even though it's hard to face the uncertainty of a future in which one must thrive and find a well-paying career, I was reminded of the adventure of it all.
