Doubted Curse

At this time of the day, a cloud of victory covered the city of Moa. A cloud that does bring happiness which also comes out with a dark lighted moon up in the sky just as if it was nightfall and also as if the rain is about to fall. It's a sign of happiness and victory which had been experienced by the forefathers back in the old. Everyone kept wondering what's going to happen and why is there so much fear and at the same time happiness which is trying to overshadow the Community?. Some other people wanted to give a clear conclusion that the world is coming to an end while some others said doom wants to overcome their carefully built city. Sayer concluded that a child will be born in this moment and in this hour that will come to save the city from their upcoming condition.

Mrs Kachi has been in labor after she has been barren for years. Now she is 55 years and has no child, not until now that God wants to bless her with a child. While giving birth, the Community went into darkness. Mrs Kachi was so worried and surprised by the kind of darkness that had overshadowed their Community while she was giving birth. Not too long, a sound of victory was heard...hurray...hurray...hurray…. Now the child has been born and the cloud went back to normal. After critical observations, the two women who helped her out during childbirth discovered that the child has 12 fingers and 12 toes respectively. They were shocked but had no idea what this might be called. They told Mrs Kachi about it and she wanted to hide the son, but he two women are not trusted.

Unfortunately, they went to the king's palace to tell out what they saw and what happened while Mrs kachi was giving birth. Immediately, the king ordered his guards to surmon Mr kachi to hear the truth from him. Mr Kachi later told the king what the wife gave birth to. Now, it is not in the history of Moa that a soul with 12 toes and 12 fingers was born and now we have it. He must be taken to the forest since he is going to cause doom into their Community. This is what the king said to Mr kachi without hearing from the chief priest. It was so clear that the boy is a cursed child according to the king and to some of the chiefs in the community.

Before he was sent to the forest, Mr. Kachi named his son and pulled out a necklace which his grandfather gave to him and wore it on the little child. Mrs. Kachi named him Woko, which was in line with husband ,Mr. Kachi. The king guard took the little boy to the forest and left him to decide his future. Some wild animals immediately circled the little boy but one strange spirit came out to protect the boy from any harm. The strange spirit was protecting Woko and also provided food for him. He was well taken care of and fed, but without falling sick.

It was fifteen years now and Mrs kachi missed their only son. They always Celebrate his birthday each year since his disappearance. It's his birthday today and the clouds changed as if it was about raining. The moon came up shining, a strange wind kept whirling in the community just like the same way it happened when Woko was born. This keeps on each time it's Woko's birthday and has been right from the time he was born. It's a sign which no one has read meaning to except Woko's parents who saw this occurrence as a sign during which their son was given birth to and also a Sayer.

One day Mrs kachi went to the farm to cut some herbs but to her surprise saw some footsteps having six toes each making a total of twelve. She initially thought they were for animals not until she went back to her senses to know that it must be his son's footsteps. Mrs kachi went round the bush searching, by following the footsteps until she was unable to find any. She wept bitterly and profusely. When she got home, she told her husband about it which made Mr kachi go on searching for hours but to no avail.

After eighteen years of Woko's birth, the Community began to suffer from an ailment which no one can explain. Their water began to turn red and all their farm products were withering. The king sent for the chief priest to know if he has gotten any solution to what is happening to their Community. When he came to meet the king and some of the community members were also present in the king's palace, he told them that the gods has not spoken. He further said that they should all be waiting for the gods without being in a haste. So, they kept on having and experiencing a series of problems.

After five months, a neighboring Community wrote a letter to the king to keep clear from their lands. This made the king infuriated but cannot do anything since they are powerless. They were still suffering from the ailments while the neighboring Community sent another letter telling them to get prepared for war. The king of Moa has no choice but to get his men prepared. He was very sure of their defeat since they have been passing through lots of setbacks due to the ailment they have been having recently.

Woko heard of the war against his Community and decided to prepare to go to war with the neighboring Community without fighting. The king of the neighboring Community only surrendered on seeing Woko. So, when his Community members got to the war ground, they found Woko coming back to his Homeland victorious. As he was coming, everything in the community was becoming normal. When the chief Priest saw him, he welcomed him as the lost illustrious son of the soil. The king prepared a feast for him and his parents were very happy to see him. It was the Chief Priest who told everyone in the community about Woko. He told everyone that Woko is the son of Mr kachi whom they had thrown into the forest when he was still a baby. The chief Priest continued that "the sign that showed up on the day Woko was delivered showed that he will be our savior. Now he has proven that out today". All hail Woko!!! All hail Woko!!!... The whole members, both old and young, hailed Woko who has been gone for a long time.

Your story has a familiar theme. A villager becomes an outcast, and later returns to save the kingdom! But it is well told and I enjoyed the story, @cool08.

Woko has a soft heart to have come back to save his kingdom

Such an interesting story, woko was destined to become their saviour

This is a really nice story, @coolo8. It was easy to follow the narrative and understand the action. Your story follows the pattern of many foundation myths, that is, stories that explain the origin of nations. The physical feature that separated Woko from the community was actually a sign that he was marked for greatness.

He truly became great and made his people proud.
