When Nma got home, she slumped on the bed. Her mind and thoughts were all about the party; she couldn't shake it off. She turned and tossed on her bed, not knowing if she should tell her parents or just forget about it.

She decided to confine in her sister, she woke her sister up and told her sister about the school party and how her friends were going but she didn't know if it was a good idea to tell their parents.

The next morning, Nma tries to tell her parents about the party, but she isn't prepared for their response, especially since she thinks she has come up with a convincing lie that would pave the way for her. Instead, her parents asked her to stay put in the house. Nma was so unhappy and wept; after talking to her parents, she told her friend Chinasa, who came up with an idea

On the Day of the party, as soon as her parents went to bed, Nma snuck out of bed, eager to attend the party; although she had promised her parents that she wouldn't go, the temptations were too strong, especially when everybody was talking about how exciting it's going to be. She sneaked out of the house.

Nma made her way to the party and linked up with her friends, laughing and joking; as the night wore on, Nma lost track of her time, and when she realized herself, she tried to call her sister to open the gate for her as she was racing back home that late hour.

She was praying that her parents wouldn't know cause they would be very furious with her. When her sister finally picked, she told her, "Nma, you are in a hot soup." Nma became scared, but she gathered her courage and went home.

As soon as she opened the living room, everywhere was dark, she wanted to thank God but she heard her name "Nma where are you coming from" and the light was turned on she froze in her tracks, only to turn to see her parents sitting comfortably on the couch with anger and disappointment on their face, her sister close to the light switch.

Her father repeated the question but Nma couldn't come up with any excuse. Her parent lectured her for 2 good hours on trust and taking responsibility. Nma apologized, but her parents punished her by seizing her Android phone, replacing it with a small Nokia button phone, and cutting her allowance.

Nma regretted her action and promised herself never to disobey her parents ever again and to be honest with them.
