It was a busy Monday after the cashless policy started and everybody was rushing to deposit their old cash back in the bank. Taylor has been patiently waiting in line for the past 2 hours and 30 minutes, just watching people go in and come out.
Taylor woke up that morning to go and deposit his mom's old cash and rectify the issues with his account.
Because of how busy Mondays are, Taylor decided he would go very early in the morning, around 7am, so he rushed down to the bank that early to get his number. Taylor was number 155, he was grumbling to himself
What the fuck! Did all these people sleep here? He didn't know when he used the f-word because he was frustrated and surprised to see such a large number of people so early. Then someone turned and looked at him
What is it, young man, feeling frustrated already? A man in his mid-sixty asked him.
I thought I had come early, but now look at me, number 155; when am I supposed to go back home and go to the market to help my mother sell? Taylor said to the man frustrated.
You just have to be patient, young man; in no time, you will be out of here; you will never remember you were 155, the man replied.
I hope so; let them not have a network hitch; that's my major concern right now, Taylor said to the man, still feeling frustrated.
Don't worry, everything will be fine, and I know the network will be alright too, the man said with a smile on his face.
All right, thank you, sir, you've been good, Taylor said, feeling a bit better.

After getting his number, Taylor joined the queue, waiting for his turn. Around 8:00 am in the morning, the banking system started operating officially, and people started going in according to their numbers.
After sometimes it looked like the number was no longer moving, but people were still going in and coming out. Taylor heard the man who had cheered him up in the morning mumbling and hissing. Taylor was curious about what would be making him angry, so he asked.
Hello sir, are you okay, what's wrong? Taylor asked.
The security man is being partial; he was letting people who were not in the line go in; while I had been standing here for over 2 hours waiting for my turn, the man said very angrily.
Wait, are you serious, sir, Taylor asked, removing his headset, obviously becoming angry, too. The sun has been hot and his leg is equally aching from standing and now this.
Don't worry, sir, he's not going to do it again, and I will watch him closely now; why don't you look for a place to sit down when it is your turn? I'll call you, Taylor said, reassuring the man.
Thank you, my son, he said and left to sit on a bench close by. Taylor was now observing what was happening in front of him at this time. Soon, it was the old man's turn, and he went in; just as it was Taylor's turn to get in, a man dressed in a suit, with his phone on his ear, pushed through in front of him.
Taylor shouted at him "Excuse me, sir, I think you cut in front of me"
The man acted as if Taylor wasn't even talking to him and kept talking on his phone.
Taylor wasn't going to let him go in. "Hey, sir, I am going to say this once, the line is back here; we have all been here since morning waiting for our turns.
The man finally hung up his call "Young man, do you know who I am? He asked condescendingly
Taylor, who was so pissed, answered," I don't care who you are, you can be whoever you choose to be, but the only thing I care about is fairness.
If I refuse to move what are you going to do about it, the man asked with a wicked smirk on his face.
Taylor refused to be intimidated and stood his ground " am sure you won't want to be embarrassed by a small boy, if I were you as am saying it gently, just pretentiously act as one and get back to the line.
The man scowled and eventually joined the queue. Taylor felt a sense of satisfaction after fighting for himself and other customers. He went in, did his transaction, and left feeling happy.
Thank 💕 you for stopping by my blog.

Security men can be very partial. This kind of thing happened to me during the cashless policy
I cried cos those people were bribing the security men
I experience the same thing but I refused too. One asked me do you have money
I am so proud of Taylor already. He handled the issue with courage and maturity and it worked out well.
That's what fits some people, always wanting to jump queue like the rest on the line are stupid
This was the reason I stopped going to banks. You can come very early in the morning and join the queue and then someone would just walk past everyone and enter the bank like he's a lord or something.
It can be quite annoying
Very annoying like the people standing are flies
Bank queue and their issues are like crazy; I remember the last time I had an issue at the bank, I walked that bank like I was working there, every day I was there. Other customers were surprised if I had gotten a job there.
But then the security man in this case didn't do right though.
Security men are the major issues in the bank, whenever there is a queue
This story reminds me of the cashless policy that year. Mehhhhnnn, it was crazy! At some point I stopped going to the bank, for a very long time.
The security personnel plus the bank officials, all of them were partial and corrupt. One would stand on a queue for four hours watching cars upon cars drive in and out, people going in to make transactions while the others waited in the hot sun.
Thank God we are out of it!
It was really crazy, standing in that hot sun with an empty stomach trying to get your hard earn money again
