I don't know why, but I woke up that day feeling so unhappy about the things I would or should have done the previous week.
The reason for feeling this way, I can't even tell.
One fatefully morning, I woke up, said my prayer, and went to check if my phone, which I plugged in while going to bed, was charged.
Lol! And behold, someone else was using my charge and even unplugged my phone. Mind you, I was already feeling vexed since I woke up.
I shouted "Victor" and "Nengi". They answered me together Yes, sister
They ran and came to the parlor.
I asked who unplugged, my phone.
My younger brother said his the one,
- So you unplug my phone that is yet to be fully charged to plug yours*
He said No, I only unplugged it because it was full and I didn't use your charger to plug mine; I think it's Mom.*
I went to ask my mother if she was the one that used my charge and she said yes.
I just snapped, while walking away. Mom, please try and buy your charge, not when you spoil my charge you will go and buy a new one with the excuse that my own is not original
My mom was like * oh, sorry, madam, I won't touch your charge again, na only you know wetin dey vex you this morning* she shouted at me from her room.
I went outside to buy what I would eat that morning before leaving for work; as I just stepped out, my slippers cut. I managed it and got what I wanted as I was about to go inside the house, my neighbor's son, who I usually play with, ran and hugged me.
Soiling my white gown, he was giggling and looking at me. I don't know who to vent the anger on. I just smiled sheepishly and removed the baby's hand from my clothes. I called the sisters to come and carry him.
I had to change my clothes, and just as I wanted to iron the new clothes, the electricity company took the light. I looked for not-so-rumpled clothes to wear for work.
I got to where I usually board he vehicle to work, trying to get into the minibus; a sharp edge on the bus tore my clothes. That's how I lashed out at the driver for not fixing his car, and now my clothes are torn. Everybody was asking me to calm down.
Some people offered to pay my fare. I honestly wake up from the wrong side of the bed; if not, why is everything just going south-south that morning.
I got to work, and some people were standing at my office door with their requisitions. I didn't even answer their greeting, in fact, the sight of them got me upset. I can't even tell what the problem for that day was.
I decided to attend to them, so I could do something else; I didn't even want anybody presence at all, at my door.
After settling them, I sat down to eat my morning food as I didn't get to eat in the house.
That's how they came back again with another request; I didn't know when I lashed out at them to pick what they wanted once and stop this 2-seconds disturbance.
They were all stunned, and they all scrambled out of my office.

I can hear them talking in low voices, it looks as if she woke up on the wrong side of the bed today said one of them. The other chipped in that I hardly get angry no matter how many times they disturb me; no, something is wrong today, she argued further.
Others ask, but you, pointing to one of them, how many times have you come here today to pick something? Your own is the worst. They started arguing among themselves about who would have upset me with their requisition.
I tried to get up to tell them to please leave the place cause I could hear them, but on getting up, I tripped and fell on the floor. They all rushed inside to find out what happened and how. I poured out the last frustrations and vexation on them.
Before the close of work, one person brought a peace offering to find out what happened, and I told her. I don't really know but today isn't my day.
Later, I sat at a place wondering what really came over me that day. I displayed the kind of anger that scared me that day, with things not working out for me well the same day.
But I overcame last last.
