When the moon takes the sun's spotlight

"Can you not bother me about anything today, I want to have my rest from all the work stress, please, Mr Johnson said

"What of tomorrow, can I disturb you, little Emilia asked.

"No, this weekend is for me to have enough rest to kick start another wonderful weekday ahead, Mr. Johnson replied.

"So when will you have the chance for me to ask all my questions, Emilia continued

"Emilia, darling, can you go and ask your mom? I have plenty of work on my table and I don't think I will have that chance", Mr Johnson insisted

Emilia sat at the corner, not knowing how to convince her father to answer her questions about the wonder of the eclipse of the sun that she had been hearing her friends talk about. She went to meet her mother for help.

"Mom, can I ask you a question, dad won't pay attention to me, Emilia said

"Emilia baby, if it's about the eclipse of the sun, your dad will be the best person to give you a wonderful story about it. Mrs Johnson replied.

"He won't answer me. Can you convince him for me, Mom? Emilia pleaded with his mother

"What was his response? When you asked him, Mr Johnson asked, lifting her face from the soup she was stirring.

"He said that he needs to rest from work stress and doesn't know when he will be chance, Emilia replied pouting.

"Okay, let's go and meet your father. Mrs Johnson said

Hurray!!, Emilia jumped up in excitement and held her mother's hand to go meet the dad.

"Honey, please can you help Emilia with her project work to write a story about the eclipse of the sun? Mrs. Johnson asks politely

"I need to have a rest today, okay, Emilia can we do this tomorrow", Mr Johnson asked

Emilia couldn't wait for tomorrow to come; she was so excited; as soon as it was dawn, Emilia woke up, brushed her teeth, took her bath, and ran off to the kitchen to get a coffee for her dad. Mr Johnson was already prepared, knowing Emilia to be an inquisitive, curious child.

"Good morning Dad, Emilia said smiling

"Good morning, dear, I hope you slept well. Mr Johnson replied.

"I try. Can we begin, please? Emilia asked, a little eager.

Mr. Johnson begins his story by saying, I was always curious, like you, to witness the solar eclipse, which happens every 100 years, although it happens every four years too; it wasn't the total eclipse but partial, which happens in some specific locations. My grandpa has always told me the story about the eclipse.

So I always wished to witness it myself, one fateful day it was announced that there would be a total eclipse of the sun and our county would be among the locations that would be affected, we were not to look straight to the sun but to wear a sunglasses or pour water in a basin and put mirror inside and to watch it.

On the Dday, I woke up eager to witness the wonder; I brought a seat close to my window. With my brewed coffee by the side and my sunglasses on my face. As I sipped my steaming cup of coffee, I gazed out the window in wonder. The sky was growing darker as if the night was falling in the middle of the day. Suddenly, a rare celestial event began - a total solar eclipse. The moon crept in front of the sun, casting an ethereal glow over the landscape. I felt tiny yet connected to the universe, lost in the awe-inspiring wonder of it all. And as the eclipse reached its peak, I took another sip of my coffee, savoring the moment.

It was a great experience, I won't forget in a hurry. Now that's the story Mr Johnson said, raising his hand as a sign of conclusion.

Emilia clapped her hands in awe of the story; she hugged her dad and asked him when the next eclipse would happen. Her father told her that she might be old before the next total eclipse but she can read more about it in the library.

Emilia was thankful and rushed off to their neighbor's house to tell her friends about the story her dad had told her. She was happy that she now had her own story to write. So whenever her friend brings up the story about the eclipse again, she will contribute

Thank you

Emilia must have wished to experience to eclipse herself. The story got her really excited.

Yes, she so wish to see it for herself.

I really enjoyed your account of the eclipse of the sun. Have a happy evening.

Thank you dear. I appreciate

The little girl's curiosity is charming and the father, despite having a lot of trouble, finds time to be with his daughter and strengthen their love around an eclipse story.
