Life has been thought for Joan, she lost her mum and dad when she was 10 and sadly lost her only aunt when she was aging 15. She has had to take care of herself since then, doing menial jobs and taking shifts whenever she could to support her self. Most nights she slept in the subway and took baths at public bathrooms. On the good days she find herself able to sleep in one abandoned bus at one of the old parks not too far from her neighborhood. It wasn't easy but she survived..
One thing about Joan was since she developed the interest to read, she always loved reading and always loved to learn new things. She was also hardworking as well and never slakced nor complained due to her situation. She disliked giving excuses and always looks forward to better days.
Now at the age of 26, Joan having finished from college two years back with a banging degree got an internship at one of the most prestigious publishing firms in the city and even became the highest paid intern in the history of her company, living in a nice comfortable apartment. You could say all her hardwork paid off eventually and shes living her best life but she remembers everyday that while her parents were alive, they always encouraged her and believed in her, now she's made them proud.
Hi @dele02.
We often provide feedback to writers who are just getting started. The Ink Well has some great resources in our catalog of fiction writing tips. For example, we have tips on developing characters in your stories, and integrating action, dialog and narrative. These resources can help you learn how to include the important elements of fiction in your stories.
Another great resource in our catalog is an article titled Help for the Grammatically Challenged. It describes how to use Google Docs to draft your content, and it will point out errors and misspellings that should be fixed before posting. For example, it would catch this error for you:
Good luck and keep writing!
Thanks alot for this..I'll look into it
Hi @dele02! in this simple, short and linear story you show that you have the ability to write. You show us parts of the character's thoughts and clarify his future. Maybe if you continue writing you can dare to make the stories more complex, to dwell on important aspects that only as an author you can know. Keep writing.
Thank you for the feedback.. appreciate
