Willow Creek had always been known to be one of the most peaceful town.
The people all coexisted in harmony.
Everything changed on a chilly night of the mid year.

Everyone had gone about their daily activities earlier and as usual retired to bed.
It started around midnight when the first steps were heard.
It sounded like large thuds, stopping and continuing in between seconds making the ground shake.
People woke up disturbed by the noise trying to decipher it's source.
The next morning they discovered large footprints left by whatever had made them all lay awake through the night.
It went on like that for weeks. Every night they would hear footsteps, powerful ones that shook their houses to it's root.
They got tired. They had searched trying to uncover whatever was behind the prints.
Each person had their speculations about the sounds.
The gods are trying to give us a warning
The animals of the wild come out to fight every night
The earth spins and falls during the night
Different people and their different opinions.
The Chief of the town who was named Victor had tried to find out what was making them lay awake all night. He had asked many to volunteer for a pricy reward but no one was brave enough to come out at night.
On a particular day he called for a meeting, everyone gathered.
He was about to address them when the ground began to shake. That had never happened during the day before.
Finally they saw them.
Before now, they had only been a myth. No one believed that anything could exist that was taller than the trees, yet here they were.
Giants.
They were three in number.
The people were wrong, they were not stumping on the ground. They were simply just walking trying to get by around.
The Chief got their attention.
"Hello Giants", he said to them.
The largest of them knelt down, "Hello there",his voice thundered sending fear down their spines.
They all took a step backwards.
"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to scare you all. I can't help the way I sound little humans".
Victor stepped forward, "We don't mean to bother you and we come in peace but you have been making us all lay awake at night".
"Again I am sorry human. We do not stump around intentionally. We just go out to look for food at night as the trees do not shade us from the harshness of the sun.
We are only out during the day because Phillip ate everything we found in the latest hours of the night", he finished pointing to the smallest looking giant".
Victor sighed, "I understand but my people and I need our sleep so we can go about your daily activities the next day".
The Giant nodded sadly "We will leave. We just finally thought we had found our home".
He got up, leaving with his friends.
Victor thought for a moment, "Wait".
The three giants turned to face him.
"Willow Creek is a town of peace and if we can all find a way to coexist peacefully then you can all stay".
It wasn't an easy but over time they all adjusted to the new system.
The people would farm, harvest and keep food for the giants and in return the giants would only stay a few hours helping them get food products from the trees that were too tall making the work less tedious for the humans, grab their food then go back to the mountains.

The Chief was impressed with his people and the giants and decided to throw a feast to celebrate them all.
They all came out in the early hours of the night, dancing, drinking and making merry.
Suddenly the giants began to stump around not walking this time.
They continued until they had succeeded in destroying the entire town.
The Giants tried to explain that something from the food made them loose control but no one cared go listen.
Victor was enraged. He had invited them into his town and in return, they had destroyed it.
People's homes, their farms, the trees they tapped wine from.
He sent them away angrily telling them never to return.
The neighboring towns heard what had happened to the people of Willow Creek and they vowed never to make that mistake.
The people had to build everything from the scratch.
From that day on, whenever giants came to came around any town, the townspeople would send them away.
It kept on happening until the giants stopped coming and that is why we don't see giants around anymore.
It was rumored that all of them gathered and left together to form a new civilization. No one has seen a ever since till date.
The relationship was mutually beneficial before the substance in the food made the giants behave otherwise.
Which is why we don't see them anymore😂😂... Thanks for reading.
In this lovely town, where residents have found the best in themselves, we are intrigued to find there is one strange source of unhappiness. You draw our attention, and proceed to present us with the fun explanation— giants! It is a shame that we did not find out what was in the food to cause such disruption, it seemed as if the giants were a perfect addition at first! Thank you for sharing your story with us, and for your engagement with other members of the community.
The substance remains one of the mysteries of life🌚..
