Demons and angels ate with me from the same platter. Ever heard of the thin line between good and bad, I was that line. I was the wedge between evil and virtue. Without me, there will be an unending war between the two sides. That's how important I was in the spiritual realm. Physically, I was just a fat boy hated and bullied by everybody.
Nothing stopped me from summoning one of my Demon buddies to track teach my bullies a serious lesson. Worse still, due to their ingratitude I could stand aside and watch good and bad destroy humanity. The spirit of peace in me would never let me do any of those. Also there was this girl I was hanging out recently, she keeps me in check whenever I'm feeling off. In my 50 decades of living, I have never met anyone like Doveth. There was something about her that I couldn't put my fingers on, but I didn't bother to figure out what it was. I was comfortable with the greater percentage of her which was kind, humble, funny and all the good characters you could ask for in a person. Besides I had a huge secret of my own, it was best to let her secret be.
Of all the people I have reincarnated as, this fat kid was the worse. With his weight it was difficult to do certain things, more especially climbing the long steps to Doveth's house was tedious.
"Did I catch you at a bad time?" I asked as I walked in on Doveth looking moody and sad.
"There's something I have to tell you, you might never want to talk to me after hearing what I have to say." She said looking up at me.
"Dov, I don't think there's anything you will tell me that would shock me. I've seen a lot in my lifetime believe me."
"I'm not who you think I am. I am going to die in four days."
"Is it cancer, or covid? I've some miraculous doctors on my speed dial."
"This is serious. I am..."
She was still speaking when two demons dragged me out of the room, one on my right and the other on my left.
"Drex and Cray! I have told you to give me a heads up when you want to grab me. I was having a discussion with a pretty girl back there." I said to the demons as we flew they m through space and time."
"There's an emergency, no time for heads-up." Drex said in a mocking voice.
We got to Mars which was the mutual ground for Demons And Angels. Devil was standing on one side with couple demon soldiers and the Supreme King was on the other side all alone.
"What is the emergency?" I asked as the demons put me down. The devil walked up to me and said.
"There have been a new development. For some years now, there have been this uprising sect with believes that the peace between Supreme and I have lasted too long. They plan to bring a new creature into the world, and with this creature comes havoc."
"This has been going on for years, and I'm being informed today. How do they plan to bring this creature into the world?"
The Supreme gave out a warm smile and said.
"They plan to use a human as host. To prevent this from happening, we have to send the host to hell before the creature manifests."
"Yeah, I get the rotten and rejected nut-jobs. Why not send the creature to your silver city, perhaps you can get it to repent and worship you." The devil said not so happy.
"With the way your empire is built, it is the most suitable place to destroy the creature." The supreme replied.
"Of course, the silver city is too pure and holy to be stained with the creature's blood."
"Really, both of you want to do this right now with all that is at stake at the moment" I asked after watching them wrangle with each other. "If sending the host to hell is the only solution then let's get it done."
"I just hate it when he feels better than every other person." The devil said. "What he hasn't told you is that the host is your new found earthling pet."
That brought every vein in this fat body to a halt, it felt like I couldn't breathe. How could it be, my Doveth, how could she be the host for t the havoc coming to earth.
"We are not sending her to hell! I'll come up with another plan." I said firmly as I signaled Drex and Cray to fly me back.
As I turned to leave, the devil called back my attention.
"You see another thing he didn't tell you is that she is en route to hell as we speak."
"No way!," I screamed. "Take me to hell this instant, I need to get her out of there."
"Calm down, take a minute and think about what you are about to do," the devil said. "In my empire it's a soul for a soul, are you willing to sacrifice that."
He was right, I wasn't thinking clearly. My head was clouded with the thoughts of my Doveth tortured in hell. If it was any other person in the entire universe, I wouldn't be bothered because that was the best solution to the problem. If I should rescue Doveth losing my soul in the process, the earth would be ruined when these two go to war.
"Listen to me, before you decide to do some romeo stunt, you should know that it was totally her choice to be selected as host. She wasn't drugged or forced, she knew what she was getting into." The supreme king said.
I realized that it might be too late to save Doveth, if only she told me her secret earlier on I'm sure I would have come up with a solution. It was sad, but I had to let her go. With the help of the supreme, I erased every memory of Doveth If not I'd be tormented anytime I remember that she is in hell.

Sigh is so sad for Doveth, she really knew, she had few days to lived, such fate can be so hurting at times.
Yet, I was sad too, hearing that Doveth was sent to hell.
