Seeing vividly with beautiful colors your envisioned life is one of the great perks of the mind and every day I am thankful for this act of daydreaming. Escaping reality even for a few seconds is therapeutic for me and my big dreams I hope to achieve someday.
I could literally be doing a task and my mind would wander of. I have always wanted to be a science researcher, developing vaccines and understanding the human body more so as to save it in time of an epidemic or pandemic. I just finished studying Animal and Environmental Biology and want to do my masters in either molecular genetics or biotechnology.
This dream is entwined with my love for a particular country’s language, culture, music and food. I have always wanted to visit and hence I also decided to want to further my education there, so I can experience everything I love while fulfilling what I want.
It’s funny how I haven’t even choosen a particular university or applied for any scholarship program yet but my daydream somehow pictures me applying, getting selected and making the big move from my country to South Korea. Getting the required knowledge to get me started in my field and actually doing the work and making big decisions to save humanity.
Some days when I watch a k-drama I love my mind takes me on a roller coaster journey where I am starring in one of these movies along side my favorite actors and when I come out of this reverie I have a big wholesome laugh. Other times, I create scenarios where I meet a celebrity I like and the situations are always funny and probably incapable of actually happening in reality.
It sure is a beautiful thing to wander off in mind sometimes. This act is capable of lighting up my entire day and keeping me going.
