In a few days time, I am going to be a bride and married but I keep having these weird illusions, I see myself in a bridal white gown coming down the stairs but instead of seeing Mark waiting for me at the end, I see someone else, someone who I don’t really know but feel I have seen once in my dream when I was a kid. It’s blurry so I can’t really make out the features of this person and the illusion always cut half way through.
Nari calls my name suddenly and I turn to answer her, she’s asking about the coffee and where I placed it. Something so random while I am going through unexplainable hallucinations. That day I go to work and plan to ignore the weird illusions, everything was going smoothly until after work hours when I ask Nari to go to the shop with me to pick out my wedding gown, and somehow I am drawn to one particular gown, it is so pretty, almost regal with its floating translucent ends and its corseted middle with silver shining beads. I have this feeling of deja vu, that I have seen it somewhere before when I suddenly realized that it is the same one from my illusions.
Confused still, I purchase the gown as it is the best one there and wait for the d-day. When I got home, I decided to put on the gown and check it out in the mirror, when all of a sudden there was colorful light everywhere and the mirror suddenly looked like I could walk through it, like a portal of some sort.
I decided to face my fears and confusions as I step right through it to a whole new world, as soon as I do that I am greeted by a beautiful well decorated palace and the most magnificent being saying to me “I finally found you, welcome my bride”.
I am dumbfounded for a moment before my brain allows me to process and form words I did not know I knew, I called his name “Rhys” and the dark but enthralling one side smile he gives is my undoing. I suddenly let out a breath I did not know I was holding and somehow everything felt right in the world.
And I think maybe this is what happens when you find your person, the one that knows you better than you and is ready to go all out for you, this must be what finding your soulmate feels like. Feeling fresh like a baby and smiling so hard like you received the biggest and sweetest candy.
All too soon reality bursts my bubble and I still have to think of my other life but I know deep down I would give it up in a blink all for this being my soul is connected too. There really isn’t much for me there anyway. Although I was supposed to get married to Mark but we never really connected and I think all this while he always wanted someone else.
I’d have to make some kind of arrangements tho, to see my friend Nari who has always been their for me in my difficult and happy situations or maybe just maybe her life would be here too. And we could enjoy happiness together.
Tomorrow, I will think about it all then. Let me enjoy this moment with my soulmate and new life.

This is very creative @elentiyaroberts and I didn't want it to stop where it did. I most say, this story was a mind catching one, I wished things like this we read in stories can happen at one's own wish. I would have just made my own wish right now. Hahaha.

An interesting, imaginative concept! You’ve handled the build up to the resolution really well and although we know that the protagonist is experiencing a type of deja vu, we still find the ending unexpected, but fitting. Nicely done!

I found it to be a bit bittersweet :') I find it disheartening when two people plan a future together, not truly knowing one another, and this seemed to be the case with the bride and Mark.
