Mabel and Cynthia had been friends since high school. It was a chilly winter morning when Mabel first mentioned her idea to her best friend, Cynthia.
“Hey Cynthia I have a perfect plan to celebrate the arrival of spring,” Mabel said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
“What is it? Cynthia asked, her eyes focused on what she was writing.
“We are going to plan a surprise party for our new neighbor! Mabel exclaimed.
Cynthia's eyes widened in surprise. “That sounds good! But are you sure we can do this?"
“ Of course we can!” Mabel replied confidently. “We will work together to make it happen.”
As the days went by, Mabel and Cynthia worked tirelessly to prepare for the surprise party. They spent time blowing balloons, planting flowers in the sitting room, baking some cookies and decorating the whole place.
“I’m so excited, Cynthia said as they were setting up the party. “I hope our new neighbor will be surprised."
“She will!” Mabel said, smiling mischievously. “We have invited her and everyone on the block.”
Just then, Mrs Williams, their new neighbor, walked into the sitting room and was surprised to see the colourful decorations and the baked cookies well placed on the table.
“ Oh girls! This is the most wonderful surprise!” Mrs Williams exclaimed with a smile on her face.
Soon, some neighbours from the block came in and were equally surprised as well to see the beautiful decorations of the party venue.
“This is the perfect way to welcome spring,” one of the neighbors said with a smiling face.
“I know, right?” Mabel said her face beaming with smiles. “I’m so glad we could make it happen.”
As the sun began to set, Mabel and Cynthia sat down with their neighbours to enjoy the delicious cookies they had baked.
They chatted and laughed about so many things and they even told tell the new neighbour hings about the neighborhood and how to live in the neighborhood to avoid having issues with people.
Mrs. Williams was grateful for the party Mabel and Cynthia hosted for her and bringing everyone in the block to celebrate as well. She thanked them for their generosity.
As the party came to a close, , everyone retired to their respective flats and the place was left empty except for Mabel and Cynthia . They cleaned up the whole place and sat down to enjoy the remaining cookies and drink.
“That was the best surprise party ever” Cynthia said, smiling.
“Definitely” Mabel agreed. “I'm so happy we got to share it with everyone.”
Just then, one of their neighbours, Mr. Walker, walked in with a beaming smile on his face.
“I have to admit, girls," he said, “I was skeptical at first. But this party has been a real treat.”
Mabel and Cynthia smiled because their plans were fulfilled.
“We are glad you enjoyed it, Mr Walker,” Mabel said smiling.
As Mr Walker left, Mabel and Cynthia hugged each other tightly.
“That was the best spring surprise ever” Cynthia said.
“You are right,” Mabel said smiling.
Mabel and Cynthia werel smiling throughout the night because their plan went smoothly and everyone enjoyed themselves.
