"I have sent you an invitation and you are coming this Tuesday. "

"You promised me that you would come personally to invite me, but now you are sending it through someone."

"Sorry! I wanted to come, but I was too busy, so couldn't get a chance."

My friend (Sara) said this to me as it was her wedding. We had been friends since childhood and now it was time for her to get married. We were so close, so I was expecting her to come personally to invite me, but she sent me an invitation through her driver. At first, I felt bad, but later I realized that she would be busy.

The next day, I went to college and met with our other friends. They all were also planning her wedding as it was scheduled for Tuesday. Sara was on leave for the past few weeks as she was busy preparing for her big day. One of our common friends, planned to dance, while the others were planning to shower flowers on the bridal entry. I was also excited but my heart was a little heavy to think about her departure.

During the recess time, we were enjoying some snacks in the canteen when one of my friends said,

"Have you noticed how Sara has changed her appearance, she looks more beautiful in her new haircut. "

"Where you see her? Did she post any pictures?"

"No! I was at Mirha's (Sara's friend) place when she came to give her invitation card."

"What? An invitation card? What do you mean? Haven't she sent it through her driver?" I said this to her.

"No! You can ask Mirha if you don't believe my words. "

Her words fall hard on me. I was shocked to know the truth. I said to myself,

"How could she do this to me? How could it be possible? "

I still was in a state of confusion, so I confirmed it from Mirha. But she told me the same thing. I was broken because I was not expecting this from my childhood friend.

"I am not going to attend her wedding," I said to myself. I was hurt, so I made this decision in haste without thinking about anything. Finally, her big day arrived, I woke up and got ready for college,

"Why are you going to college? Isn't your friend's wedding day?" My Mom said this to me.

I was silent, but thousands of things were running in my mind.

"Should I miss my best friend's big day?

My emotions were mixed up, I was entangled and confused. I decided to discuss everything with my Mom. After hearing me, she said some words of wisdom.

" My dear daughter! Friendship is based on two things, respect and trust. It doesn't need any demands and promises. If you can't trust your friend, you don't have a right to be friends with her. Instead of ruining her big day, you should go and ask her the whole truth."

Her words stuck in my mind and I decided to attend her wedding. So I got ready and went to the wedding hall. She was happy to see me and I never showed anything to her and did everything possible to make her happy. In the end, I presented gifts to the couple took some photographs with them and returned home.

After a few days, I was sitting in my lounge, when someone knocked at our door. My Mom opened the door and it was my friend Sara. She welcomed her and brought her inside. I was happy to see her. After some gossip, she told me something.

"Dear friend! I want to tell you something that has been bothering me for many days."

She told me that the day she went to distribute her wedding cards, her car stopped and had some technical issue and she waited for one hour in the mechanic shop. Due to the hot weather, her health deteriorated and she started vomiting. So she decided to send the remaining cards through her driver as her mother instructed her to do so. She was embarrassed, as she told me a lie before, because she didn't want to hurt me.

After hearing her, I was also embarrassed at my own for doubting her. Later I thanked my Mom as her words saved me from making any wrong decision.
