I never knew the woman I always met by the stream was a half snake. It was a great shock because I fell in love with her even before getting to know her.

It was a February, and its valentine period were most lovers reunite with lovers.

As for me, I too went to the village not for the reunion but for the search of love in my community, And my reasons where because I wasn't a fan of marrying from another tribe.

The second day of my visit to the village, my uncle pleaded I join him to the forest to go check his traps( my uncle was a hunter).

While checking his traps he ordered me to go forward behind a thick bush and check another of his trap.

Getting closer to the trap I heard sounds of crying by the exact place my uncle said the trap was located. As I walked closer I was shocked to see a lady held by the trap.

I freaked out and was about screaming to my uncle for help, when the trapped lady gestured me to keep mute and untie her myself. I kept buzzling her with questions as I untied her but she promised to answer all my questions if I would come to the river bank between our community and a neighbouring community the next day afternoon.

I smiled and untied her. Immediately she left I heard the voice of my uncle, who was already coming towards my direction .

"Frank, what was keeping you so long?" He asked as he appeared from the midst of the bushes behind me.

"Sorry I was admiring how wonderful nature can be." I lied.

My uncle looked around and noticed blood stains on the trap. Then he asked"What about the blod stains?".

I was startled, but surprisingly, I heard a voice inside my head saying, "Look by your right hand; you will see an animal." Upon hearing this, I quickly checked my right hand and found a rabbit.

I picked it up and gave it to my uncle with a fervent smile and he laughed and said" this boy you haven't changed ".

On our way home my uncle told me different stories of how that forest was filled with enchanted creatures and mysteries. He said some people say it was the olden days evi*l forest.

One of the stories he told was that a half human half snake do exist mostly in the forest. I was scared at the stories he told along the road.

" Sir, has anyone ever caught any of these creatures?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Nope, all those who saw them never lived to tell the story, it's just a legend I most say."

I was double minded by the stories,I kept on doubting if the lady I saw was one. But then again I couldn't let go of that beauty.

I kept on thinking about the girl I saw, could the story my uncle told me be true about the girl?

I decided to wait till everyone was out of the house to the farm. I picked up my uncle's bicycle and rode it to the stream where the trapped lady was. I searched for her everywhere, I almost gave up the search until I heard a very pleasant and sooting voice. It was the lady! She gave me an address and said I should visit her there by 9 pm.

I had to sneak out of the house by 8:30 pm to make sure I got there earlier.

When I got there I saw alot of snakes became scared I asked her why is there so many snakes she replied saying its her family. At this point I knew I had fallen for the wrong woman.

I wanted to run away but I was stopped by all of them surrounding me. They said that the day is their special day to choose a groom for their sister who is the princess, and that i'm the chosen one.

That was how I was forced to marry her and become their king and she became my queen, well I began to enjoy the kingdo, it wasn't bad at all, I even helped my family with it. Indeed I found true love in a snake woman
