I don't know what to say about that thing. But in my family, we tell it as it is, always has been so.
I guess you meant breaking the news of a late loved one? Where we lived then it was far from home, and telling people their loved ones is late, always leaves them crying and grieving throughout the journey back home, so is always wise for them to find out once they reach our hometown.
I understand it actually. I guess for my people, we have a way of postponed grieving cos this was not a thing anyone ever worried about
