As I walked down the aisle with Ella, I smiled ear to ear and waved at everyone on both sides of the aisle. The cathedral was filled to the brim and the choir did what they knew how to do best. The moment was glorious and I was the happiest man on earth for marrying Princess Ella, the beautiful lady who happened to be from one of the wealthiest homes.
"Graat!!!" Harry shouted, bringing me back to reality. "You have been staring since while your phone has been ringing, Ella is calling you" he said while handing me my phone but the call went off immediately.
"Why did you give me the phone late? I don't think I have enough airtime to call her back" I said looking at him angrily.
"It's not my fault that you were caught daydreaming. I am sure it is about that Ella girl again. Channel your anger to yourself" he said and continued working on our laptop.
Ella was one of the most beautiful girls in our class and she came from a royal family. She was my crush and I wanted to ask her out but I was bidding my time. At the time, I was writing assignments for my classmates inorder to get some money to survive and she was among my customers.
I decided to call her back but I didn't have enough airtime so when she picked the call, it went off almost immediately after pleasantries.
"What happened?" She asked when she called back.
"My network was bad", I lied.
"Ok, what about my work? Are U done?"
"Yes princess I am done", I said trying to flirt with her.
"Hope you did a fine job? Send it across let me see". She requested.
"Of course", I replied. "A fine job for a fine lady".
I could hear laughing heartily at the other end.
"Thanks Graat" she replied "I will be waiting for you to send it", she ended the call.
Normally, I request for my clients to make a part payment before I send their work but I didn't, I sent her work straight away.
"You did a nice job", she said. "You can now print it and bring the hardcopy to room 209" she added.
I was very happy, my crush was inviting me to her room.
"I need to use the laptop right away, I want to print Ella's work", I said to Harry my roommate and business partner. We contributed money in order to purchase the laptop.
"Ella's work has taken so much of your time, I know you are crushing on her but be sure to give your finances priority " Harry gave me an unsolicited advise.
"Okay sir, just give me the laptop let me print the work".
When I was done, I hurriedly took the printout to room 209 where Ella stayed.
"Come in", her calm voice called from inside when I knocked.
"Here's the print out" I said handing her the copy.
Things weren't going as planned, I had wanted to use the opportunity to ask her out but I couldn't get myself to say it.
"How much is your money?" She asked as she went towards her drawer. She had a very beautiful figure and at that moment, I knew I had to ask her out.
"Just go on a date with me, that's my price", I said smiling awkwardly.
She turned to face me, her face was as beautiful as ever but she was not smiling back.
"I am engaged to get married towards the end of the year, the invitation would be out soon and I will send it to my classmates too. What you ask is impossible" she said with a tone of finality.
At that moment she instantly became unattractive to me and I also regretted making such a stupid request in the first place.
"I was only joking", I said "your money is ₦4,700"
"I have seen the way you look at me and even break business protocols for me. I know you are not joking which is why I have to be honest with you so as to not break your heart", she said. "I will pay ₦6,000 for your troubles"
Harry laughed so hard when I narrated my ordeal to him.
"Hopefully, you will focus on business and never daydream about her again".
Harry was right because I never daydreamed again after the incident.

This is quite sad and funny at the same time 😂. The part where she said she'll give you 6000 for your troubles wasn't expected at all. Well, it's never advisable to compromise our dreams for a lady—Harry had prolly experienced this and was talking out of his experience.
