Beautiful way of devising a story: we feel the effect of the train moving through the snowy landscapes, the shrewd scrutiny of the personal reality of this protagonist who has not found a safe place in the world and we sense the kaleidoscope of beautiful effects that the ring will bring into her life. Christmas is a time for a little fantasy and magic. We lose many things as adults, including the sense of child-like wonder. It's difficult to be able to re-experience those emotions, but once in a while, the truth reveals itself again.
