A Prayer to Muse

As a writer/poet, have you ever run out of ideas on what to write about? Have you ever suffered writer's block?

Well, I have. And I must be honest with you, I'm currently blank at the moment. I've not been able to write a new poem in over a week now. It is why I've written these few lines as a supplication for inspiration. Enjoy!

O, Muse

hark my entreaties

and do play, sweetly,

thy symphonic lyre to my ears;

Touch my lips, I implore thee

with thy burning coal.

For what good is a river without water?

What good is a poet without words?

Thanks for reading. Now tell me, how do you overcome your writer's block?

Thank you for the suggestion. I really didn't know how to do that until you told me

Pehaps The Ink Well's Poetry Challenge will help :)

Yes, I believe it will. I'm so excited that the challenge is coming up at a time like this. Thank you very much for your feedback

Oh, that's good! Look forward to seeing your contribution :)
