A writer named Julia had been struggling to finish her latest book, so she decided to rent a remote cabin in the woods to get away from distractions and focus on her work. The cabin was old and rustic, but it had everything she needed: a comfortable bed, a fireplace to keep her warm, and plenty of solitude.

On her first night in the cabin, Julia was sitting at her desk typing away when she heard a noise. It sounded like footsteps, but she knew she was alone. She shrugged it off and kept working, until there was another sound—a loud thud—and then silence.
Julia stopped typing and looked over toward the window. As her eyes adjusted to the darkness, she made out something moving around outside. She frowned. What could it be? There were no animals around here for miles, and it didn't seem dangerous. So what…?
She stood up and walked across the room, keeping an eye on the window as she went. The movement was still happening outside, so she moved closer to get a better look. She saw something that made her gasp. It was the figure, a dark shadow in the form of a child. A boy child standing close to the window. But before she could do anything the figure vanished.
She screamed and locked herself in her room, she turned off the lights, closed the curtain drapes Jumped into her bed, and tucked herself underneath her duvet. Her heartbeat increased rapidly. She didn't know exactly what she saw but she knew she wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. She hoped and prayed that morning would come sooner as she shivered to the sound of the wilding wind and the horrifying sounds of the owls outside.

Then she hears a knock on the door, she's afraid to check who it is, so she remains quiet underneath her duvet. The knocking continues until she hears a familiar voice from outside.
"Mrs. Julia !", The voice called out. "It's Mr. Gibs.. your landlord."

She sighed in relief and crawled out from under her covers. "Mr. Gibs?" she asked.
"Yes, Mrs. Julia." He said with a smile, as he stood outside her window. "Are you ok?"
She nodded and smiled back. "Yes, I'm fine." She took a deep breath and looked back at him. "I taught I saw the ghost of a child right where you are standing a few moments ago.".

"Oh, that's just my son Jeremy. He tends to get excited when we have visitors. But don't worry I have sent him back to sleep. He won't bother you anymore". Mr. Gibs said still holding his perfect smile. Somehow Julia felt a sense of comfort from Mr. Gibs' words. Once Mr. Gibs was gone she turned on the light and began to write her novel. That night Julia began one of the most magnificent fictional stories of her career.

Julia spent one week in the cabin fully engaged in her story until, One day, she decided to explore the woods around the cabin to clear her head. As she was walking, she stumbled upon an old graveyard hidden among the trees. The gravestones were weathered and worn, but she could make out the name of the Landlord: Mr. Gibson Smith on one of the stones and beside it Jeremy Gibson Junior. The landlord's son.
She stood confused and shocked as her brain tried to process all the information. She then saw a man at the security post. She asked him about the landlord and he replied that Mr. Gibs and his son died in a fishing accident a long time ago.

She felt goosebumps on her skin as it dawned on her, that ghosts are real. She went back to the cabin immediately packed up her belongings and made her way home.
Years later, she published her adventure at the cabin as a fictional novel and became rich and famous.

Nice write up...I thought only children fear ghosts lol😅😅...although the ending got me sad😔. Welldone 👍

Hahhahaa that's a good story. Thanks for sharing it with us. Father and son made Julia a famous writer maybe the fear is not so bad😅 The ending was good.🙏

What an experience to help fuel inspiration! It is interesting that not only did the ghost of Mr. Gibson visit Julia in the night, but he also must have rented her the space directly, since she recognized his voice. How chilling.
