I woke up yesterday morning, thinking on what to do to have breakfast since jobs are not forthcoming,I decided to take a walk around the Estate expecting to see any work to do and get paid.As I turned to my left,I saw a man struggling with his wheel spanner to loosen his left tyre which was very flat.I greeted him and volunteered to help fix the flat tyre.i quickly went down to fix the jack very well and started loosening the bolts one after another.Within few minutes I have removed the flat tyre."Sir where is your spare tyre?"I asked as he opened his boot and brought out the spare tyre. I gently fixed it rightly and started tightening the bolts one after another. Immediately I was true with proper tightening the bolts, I quickly helped him put everything inside his car.
"Thanks so much for helping me,take this little token to buy something for yourself."he thanked me as he put hand inside his breast pocket and forced money he folded into my hands because I pretended as if I don't want the money. I gladly appreciated his kind gesture because breakfast can now be afforded. Quickly I walked down to phase 2 of our Estate to buy cooked corn 🌽.As I turned to my left,I saw a woman together with two men walking very fast towards my direction as if they are going for a fight. I quickly moved to the other lane of the road to leave the road for them, immediately, the woman started pointing her finger at me shouting,"officer arrest him before he escapes, he is one of them", Suprisingly I quickly turned my neck backwards expecting to see the person they are referring to because I know I'm not the person. As they walked up to where I stood, one of the men said "Just remain silent and do not move for whatever you say shall be used against you in the court of law." while the other man held my hand and dragged me into a motorcycle. "Officer I am innocent because I don't know what you are talking about" I shouted but they wouldn't listen.
As we got to Lokogoma Police station division, they quickly detained me. "You are going to jail alone if you don't tell us where others are" another police officer said as others cajoled me to say the truth and be free. "Officer I'm very innocent because I have not seen this woman before nor gone to her shop for any reason, please let me go"I pleaded as tells rained down to my chest.
"Where have I missed it?How can I agree to what I never did?Who will speak for me? who will help me out of here?"I talked to myself as I cried profusely.
After an hour in police detention, a man entered the station and all the officers stood up , saluting him and I suspected him to be the DPO; who is in charge of the Lokogoma Police station. As he was about walking into his office,he turned and said to me "what are you doing here? How did you get in here?,then i looked at him keenly and noticed that it was same man I helped with his car in the morning." Sir please help me,I have not stolen in my life,Sir I am innocent of this crime,"I spoke out in tears as the woman interrupted" Sir don't mind him, he is one of the robbers,he wore this same red t-shirt during the robbery." As she was still talking,we heard noise outside the station, a police officer came in and reported that the Estate security men later caught the robbers and they are outside now. At that moment,I cried bitterly as everyone of them went outside to see them. The DPO shouted at the officers to quickly discharge me with immediate effect. They gave me my clothes to put on.I couldn't control the tears raining down to my cheeks even as the woman came to plead . The DPO promised to compensate adequately as i left the police station unhappy.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us 🥰 some persons are in jail for crimes they no nothing about and sometimes this things are base on ignorance and poor governance. From your own experience if not for the help you rendered to that man and how lucky you were you won't have shared this experience with us.

Indeed it's good to always do good at any slightest opportunity because your deeds will surely speak for you in time of need.

Good thing he had done the DPO the favor of helping him fix his car. He identified him and had him released. Have a nice day
