"Everything is taking it's route as days go by with much pressure and challenges, even as we often times get married away by the circumstances of life , yet we ought not to forget the essentials of life". I advised myself as I rose up to hit the day's activities.
After an hour, I left my house to catch up with the business meeting with the Manager of Nirsal Microfinance bank.
When I got to the bank, I checked into the reception or meeting room. Fortunately, l saw other loan applicants who were gorgeously dressed and everyone of them was with his or her own printed business proposal. Sincerely, I forgot that the Manager must demand for business proposal to ascertain if the loan we applied for can match the business proposed. Then I decided to go outside the gate to print it out before I would be called to defend my proposal which I must present to the manager for further questioning. I stood up and gently walked out of the reception ,then I took a walk down the street to do it. I carefully searched around the place, I couldn't find any cyber Cafe or computer center around there but only restaurants and other corporate offices are seen there.
After walking about 125km, I decided to go back to the bank, believing there must always be a way forward. As I was walking along the right lane, I heard noise. I looked towards my left where the noise was coming from, I saw that a compound is crowded with people there, many folded their two hands, some placed their two hands on their heads 🙆🙆🙆 while others stood with arms akimbo, frowning at the ugly situation. The noise and shout of suprise or sudden event drew attention of more people and the place was filled up with people. I wanted to continue my journey but the sight of what was happening and the way the people stood and acted drew my attention and I couldn't help than to go see what is really happening there."What is happening here?"I asked but no one cared to say anything until I got into their midst and what I saw made me quiver and in awe.I saw a young girl of 9 years crying bitterly with her body peeling off.At that moment, people were pouring white liquid substance which they said is Palp. According to people, they said that raw palp dissolved in water helps to heal burns quickly. "what really happened to the girl and who did this to her?"I inquired. One of the ladies told me that it was a woman known as Mrs. Miriam; a mother of three children and she also sells banana. She said that Mrs Miriam poured a very hot water on Mary; a poor little girl she brought from the village to help her in house chores and in return she will be trained in school. According to her, she said that Mrs. Miriam poured her hot water because she didn't go early to hawk banana. She said that she wasted time with washing of plates and preparing the woman's children for school.
"what a wicked world!" I exclaimed. As the lady was still talking,I couldn't hold myself than doing anything I can to assist because the little girl's case is so pathetic .I beckoned on some men for us to get motorcycle to rush her to any nearly clinic for immediate treatment. As they agreed to join me take her to hospital, Some police men came and inquired on what happened, they quickly positioned their motor and we rushed the girl to Toronto Hospital. When the nurses saw that police officers are involved, they didn't bother to request for a police report before commencing treatment on the girl, they took her to emergency ward and commenced treatment.
After few minutes ,the girl was responding to treatment and I felt relieved. As the officers were about leaving to arrest the culprit,I now remembered I have an interview.I quickly told the officers that I have an urgent meeting to attend," I may still come to check on her after the meeting". I said as the officers thanked me for my urgent intervention to arresting the situation.
When I checked out of the hospital,I quickly boarded a motorcycle to Amino Kano Crescent, Abuja; where the Microfinance bank is located. When I got to the reception, I didn't see any of my colleagues,I became perplexed and called on one of the staff," Please I want to know if the the interview is over or is it postponed?",I inquired. "After meeting with Four of your colleagues, Our manager received an urgent call for an unavoidable crucial meeting at the Headquarters, then he rescheduled the interview to hold next week Monday for those that have not met with him".the lady said and I quickly rushed back to the hospital to see the little girl. I was so glad when I heard the culprit has been arrested and she has been detained and very soon she will be arraigned on charges of attempted murder.

Sort:

I'm glad you were able to help the young girl who was badly burned by getting her medical attention quickly. It was very kind of you to intervene and make sure she was cared for, even though it made you late for your meeting.

The situation with Mrs. Miriam is certainly disturbing. No child deserves, to be treated that way. I'm relieved to hear the police were notified and she was detained. Hopefully justice will be served.

While missing your interview must have been disappointing, it's good they rescheduled so you still have a chance to present your proposal. Things don't always go as planned, but you handled all these challenges thoughtfully. Thank you for sharing this nice work.

Thanks so much for stopping by to read,I appreciate you so immensely

God! I don't really know why some people are born so wicked, how can Mrs Miriam treat somebody's child like that knowing fully well that she also has children. Whatever the girl did, she doesn't deserve to be treated like that. It was a good thing you arrived there on time and you were able to take the girl to the hospital. God will bless you for being kind to her. You are a very good person and we need people like you more in this world

Amen...
