I’m not really sane; inventive, perhaps, but definitely not sane. I’ve always got at least four "wish list" projects on the go. Right now it’s my CAD (computer-assisted drawing) application that I developed, which is (still) in limbo; my online collection of free sewing patterns that I want to turn into a well-populated library (hehe, can libraries be populated?); and my waterwheel. The waterwheel is the latest insanity.
Now for the dream:
I daydream…a lot. I wander off into a world of soft, cloudy, foggy, netherness (that’s not a word, but it’s too descriptive to delete.) In my perfect dream (daydreams are always perfect, aren’t they?) I can, actually, build a fully functional electricity-generating machine out of kitchen scraps and other bits and bobs that are lying around the house, such as the inner cardboard roll from a roll of toilet paper. (I’m not lying, and this is not meant to be comedy. (Haha))
The daydream, which can go on for weeks at a time, is much like sleepwalking. It’s a dream where I actually find various bits and scraps and, carefully, construct a model in the "image" of my dream. In my dream state, I also do VAST amounts of research. I’ll read every scientific paper I can find to validate my insanity.
So the REAL dream began when I discovered an online "how-to" about building a waterwheel or pump that works without the power of solar, electricity, or wind. The water pump pumps solely as a result of GENTLY moving water (slowly flowing water moves the fins of the wheel while a spirally wound tube pumps the water up via positive displacement) (yes, I know @yaziris that the water must be moving to get the crazy idea to work, but @yaziris, I’ve got a daydream for that too). The dream is to have two tanks at different elevations (one high, one low) and then pump the water from the low tank to the high tank. Then…THEN! The water will flow from the high tank back into the low tank while a turbine is spinning on the way down so that I can generate electricity. The water will flow back into the low tank where the water pump is positioned to catch the flow. Yes, the system will need kick-starting; a jet of water from a hosepipe will be directed at the waterwheel/ pump to get it going. But then it should run long enough to charge several batteries.
See, my daydreams are always complicated. Does that stop me? NO!
So, now I have to tell you about the "sleep walking" part of the daydream.
In a very dreamlike state, I gathered a soda bottle, tubing from the fish tank (don’t worry, the fish are still fine; I used the excess emergency supply), bamboo kebab skewers, a toilet roll, a soldering iron, tiny sauce pots, glue sticks, glue, and a dowel stick I found in an old toy box. These tools looked so good in my dream 😴 Anyone can see that you can build a waterwheel or pump with these tools, RIGHT?
Being me, I didn’t stop there. Oh, no, not at all. I sleep-walked for WEEKS.
I punched holes in the soda bottle with the soldering iron after carefully using PI to calculate how many fins I could (reasonably) get around the circumference of the bottle. I used kebab sticks to hold the water-catchment cups, and I laboriously wound fish tank tubing around the kebabs. It took days and days of dreaming to do it.
The only moment of clarity—in the middle of the beautiful dream—came when @yaziris told me:
"It’s never going to work, you crazy, mad, insane woman!"
I woke up for about half an hour and actually considered that he might be right. But then…
Being me and being so fond of my dream, I simply discounted his words as those of a "practical man" who wasn’t in the dream, so how could he possibly know?
Now, I understand that you can see how much of a dream this is and that I should wake up. That I should stop spending hours and hours drawing different "possible" designs and STOP building "sleep-walking" electricity models.
Many people have tried to explain to me that I’m dreaming, but I can’t hear them—I’M DREAMING!
I’m so determined to dream that I’ve entered a competition to design a green alternative energy system. Really (into video below)

Oh my gosh... hehe you wrote an Ink Well on it 🙌😍 You are so brilliant, my Stylish! Seriously... You dreem a wonderful design into being, build it, write a fabulous post about it, and succeed in being a dreemer, inventor, writer, and comic all in one!!! Love you and your incredible mind (and heart 💗) I'm rooting for you... because even if Yaz @yaziris is right about some of it - I KNOW you will find a way to adapt and make it work!!! !LUV !ALIVE !LADY

You make me sound like a nethering dream crusher. 😅
I didn't just say "it'll never work". I told you exactly why it can't work the way you think, and no, the toilet paper roll, plastic soda bottle and cups weren't even part of it. 😁
Still, you ARE brilliant. And I did give you the motivation to work on a nuclear battery
to probably nuke meinstead though. You're welcome!❣
You are sooooo brilliant. Love you, much, much, muchness ❤️💕🤗🤗🤗
I'm honestly impressed. You're productive even while dreaming. I'm just a dreamer...😂
I’m as mad as a hatter. Hehe 😉
A daydream
is an invisible lever that projects itself into the future,
a prophetic voice that babbles,
a message that cannot be enunciated in all its perfection for the risk of not being understood.
When there is a library of dreams
science will become metaphor again,
engineers will not need formulas, but poetic images.
The immense amorphous mass of dreamers
will take care of everyone.
So that the bread will not be so costly
nor the night so dark.
Oh, my! @gracielaacevedo you’ve moved me to tears.
You have the most beautiful heart and soul.
I love you muchness ❤️❤️🤗❤️🤗❤️❤️😊❤️❤️🤗🤗🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
😍 😘
Is it working???? First of all, netherness is a great word, and second of all, listen to YOUR dreams! At the very least, you've learnt a LOT. Well done. I'm sooo impressed! Sorry my VP is low right now, I'll come back and vote tomorrow xx
I’ll post a video of the dream-test next week. Keep your fingers crossed. 🤗❤️
Haha! This made me chuckle. 🤣
I remember my last words to @leaky20 were that I thought you were perfect for the coffee community, but I felt that you lacked that essential "element of madness" that I seek ... Haha! I love when I've proven wrong.
You are awesome!
You are genius!
This is impressive!
You deserve a page in the Guiness Book of Records. 🙏👏😍
I love you beyond and beyond. ❤️💕❤️💕❤️😁
Have you entertained the notion that perhaps it is you who are sane and the rest who are pixilated? Building a waterwheel in one's sleep seems perfectly reasonable to me:)
Now and again I, ACTUALLY, think. Hehe, it’s doesn’t happen often enough(thank goodness) to spoil the dream. ❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕😁😁😁😁😁😁
That's it, the spur to success. Once someone says you can't, it will surely happen :))
I believe in you, mostly in your determination.
It’s always such a pleasure to see a comment from you. Thank you @agmoore 🤗❤️🥰
Who knows dreaming can create such a thing? You're like turning imagination to reality.. Let's see if that will work..hehe... !LADY

The point is you didn't just stop at the dreaming, you actually put it in motion even though it didn't exactly look as perfect as it was in your dream. 😅
This is amazing and one sweet day, you'll see your dream become a reality.
You’re way sweet @stellsgeorge. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗❤️💕❤️😁😁😁
😇
This is so fantastic, @itsostylish! And I love your humorous writing style too! You're a genius. I wish I had half the brain you do for inventing things. You will succeed! I know you will!
A very cool invention, it seems to me that it can be possible if it is done correctly. The problem really is the large companies that profit from public services.
A clear example is the man who invented the engine that ran on water and who disappeared from the planet.
I loved reading your dream.
Thanks for sharing.
Good day.
Yes, someone poisoned him. He dropped dead in a parking lot after eating out at a diner.
Not many people know about it.
🤗❤️💕❤️
I want someone to plagiarize this in my eulogy 🤣😅 you'd forgive me... right?
You are SO COOL 😍 Unstoppably magical woman! 💚🤗
That would be the ultimate compliment ❤️🤗💕❤️💕💕❤️
Oh my😂😂😂😂
This is rather impressive for something you did while dreaming 😂😂✨
I loved this 😃 and don't listen to anyone who says your dream wouldn't work😂😂❤️
Please would love to know if it does work🤗
Watch this space….
Hehe! ❤️🤗💕
Wow, this is what it means to go beyond dreaming. Congratulations, I'm glad you shared it with us.
I could have sworn someone pushed me into a comedy show. Your words are bewitching and beautiful. This is well written.
❤️🤗💕
😁😁
So creative while daydreaming. I think that's the beauty of it. Doing things you nearly seem might be impossible but in dreams, they aren't. A world with free flow without distraction. Lol
🤗❤️💕

Sometimes there are some people who get innovative ideas from dreams. My friend also made an innovation that he got from a dream, but it didn't work 😁.
Thanks for stopping by 🤗❤️
Thats quite a dream! What amazes me is the vast knowledge you've acquired about it.
Your dreams aren't far-fetched If you actually work towards achieving it.
Nice one👌
🤗❤️💕
Don't stop dreaming...look what you did!..if I could get myself to dream like you do. I certainly must have achieved a lot more...does it work??..I'm so curious
I’ll video the dream-test next week and post for all to see. Haha
❤️🤗
I really like the first line where you say you're not sane. I mean, sane is definitely boring and I'm glad you're not. Hehe. I'm also glad that you put your dreams to work unlike me.
We're definitely looking at the next Thomas Edison or something. @itsostylish, you're an amazing inventor. And your happiness to create with your hands could be smelt a mile off. I !LUV it❤️
🤗❤️💕
This is very impressive. Many great ideas are gotten from dreams. Nice publication.
🤗🤗🤗😊😊
I love reading you as always. Dream, dream and keep dreaming, may nothing and no one take away your desire to dream. A big hug.
Please never stop drEEming hahahahaha
this is fabulous - and it looks brilliant to me!!! I will be inside your drEEm and chEEr you onto electrical frEEdom!!!!!!!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
don't stop - just keep taking the next step!!! i love how your mind works and i love how you actually brought it to reality - this is the stuff that drEEms are made of my Stylish!!!!!!!
Dreams do come true and make the crazy ones look sane but this idea is genius. Let it not flow in the netherness but be recognised for its awesomeness. :-)
I think this is the point where I say, God have mercy. But then this is how Albert Einstein started. If you're just persistent enough, you might become
