Great story, @egboncass. I loved the relationship of the mother and son, and how she helps him realize that he needs to take a step back and think about whether his work and lifestyle are making him happy. This was one of my favorite lines:

Thank you very much, Nigerian mothers actually don't believe anything that isn't white collar is a real job. You're either a doctor, lawyer, engineer or a disappointment.

Unfortunately it’s the truth, ask any Nigerians. Of course they’re slowly becoming more open minded given the unemployment rate in the country but the fact remains that they have and always will prefer those jobs to anything else.
