Which did he decide? I think it would be fair to your readers to tell them, since you built uop the suspense. You led us right to the point where the story would be resolved with an important answer, and dropped us mid-sentence. I encourage you to complete your stories, so your readers do not feel they have been tricked, or abandoned, by the story teller. :-)
One other tip for you. You used the phrase "One faithful day." The correct expression is "One fateful day." The word relates to fate and destiny, vs. faith or religion.
