I love this story, @strangegravy. It is thrilling and very unsettling to think that scientists of the future could create humanoid robots in their basements — especially ones that can evolve right before your eyes! As a sci-fi story this is very successful; moreover, it is just an overall great story. Your ability to interperse dialog, action and narrative is spectacular. The balance of those elements is perfect in this story.

Ah Jayna you are too kind. I enjoyed finding out where this story was going as I was writing it, as loads of other avenues opened up in my head as it went along.
I'm trying to learn how to balance out the dialogue and the descriptive writing aspect, which I love - it's fun trying to decide which works better where. I'm strangely enjoying the editing part as much as the writing, as long as I feel it still flows well.
