I’m on my way to meet our new client when my phone at the backseat rings multiple times. I don’t expect anyone to call so I don’t bother to answer. But if it’s Engr. Beau, I’m sure he will just nag me to arrive early at least 30 minutes before our client arrives.
“Why don’t you answer the call? It bothers me, don’t you?” I almost forgot that I am with my sister Aiah, riding with her car.
“I guess it’s from your boyfriend.” She added which makes me sighed and rolled my eyes.
“Oh! I forgot, you don’t do boyfriend hahaha. Why? Does your memories with Roscoe still engraved in your heart?”
“Shut up Aiah. I don’t care about him. And dzuhh, helloo? I don’t even have the time to think about hi-
“Oh yeah, workaholic woman. Why don’t try to date Beau instead? HAHAHA! It’s more convenient.” Her laughed echoed and I was dropped at the meeting place feeling annoyed.
Everyone knows that Beau is just a my colleague and sometimes just a friend.
But Roscoe, yeah. That damn bastard who ruined my pure heart when I was 21, but now I just laugh about it when I remember the impact it caused me back then.
“Hey” I greeted Beau in a casual way since he’s just alone in this table.
“Architect Elliana… I called you hundred times but you didn’t even answer at least once?”
“My bad, Engineer Beau.” I said highlighting his title. “Anyway, please tell me more about Mr. Alvarez, our client.”
But instead of giving me the answer, he just smirks and sipped his drink.
It’s okay. I know that their hotels and restaurants are currently closed due to poor management, but our client wants to revive their business, amazing that despite of their loses they want to invest more by reconstructing their buildings and to build more hotels and restaurants.
“Okay, just sip your drink and I just go to the washroom.”
“Okay,” he chuckled “You’ll regret not answering my call, Elliana.”
I stared at him for seconds and urge him to just spill what he wanted to say but he just looked around as if he’s teasing me to urge him more.
‘Damn you, you’re just wasting my energy.’
I just glared at him, picked my pouch and stood up and turn around “Waaah!” I held my chest in shocks when I faced the man standing in front of me. And to my surprised I saw how shock he is.
“Elliana?”
The arrogant Roscoe is here right in front of me. What the sherks!
“What are you doing here?!” It’s not evident that there’s annoyance in my tone, right?
Wait… Alvarez?!
“Beau?!” Using my usual face expression and my hand signal, I urge Beau to explain what’s going on?
“I didn’t expect that It’s Roscoe Alvarez. That’s why I called you hundred times earlier just to get ignored.” Beau shortly explained. And I sighed.
“Don’t worry, I just called your firm to give me their best Engineer and Architect, I didn’t know that it was you.” Roscoe simply explained and occupied the seat beside me. “I came here to professionally talk about the project requirements, moreover, I don’t intend to ruin what you have.”
The discussion started by Beau, and he explained more on designs. And after Roscoe choose the sample of designs he wants, Beau urged me to focus and explain about the budget and timeline.
It took us an hour about the discussion and thankfully I managed to be professional until the end.
Roscoe just ordered our lunch and now I can’t believed I’m eating with him again.
“Mr. Alvarez thank you so much for choosing our firm and for our lunch. But I need to go, something came up and they needed me at the office now.”
And we’re left alone in this table.
“I am sorry about earlier, I thought there’s something between you and Engr. Beau. I thought he is your husba--”
“Whatt?!! Husband my foot.”
It was almost you if you pursued me back then.
“I thought you were engaged?” his last question made me confused where the sherks he got that news?”
“Engaged?”
“The reason I didn’t pursue you back then.”
“What are you talking about?”
“You know I like you back then, right? I didn’t have the chance to know how you feel towards me because I was warned by your father that you were already engaged to someone. I’m just 22 years old boy that time and I don’t know how to fight for my feelings, and I regret that until now.” He said without tearing his gazes on my eyes.
And I don’t exactly know what to feel right now…
I feel shocks about the fake information he received and it makes me want to blame my father right now.
“If only I had the assurance or clear answer from you then I would’ve fight for you, despite the current situation back then. But as time goes by I started moving on but you caused an enormous impact inside my heart—
I heard him chuckled which made me miraculously smiled at him like an idiot. I felt a light weight in my chest as I hear him confessed what he felt and feels.
“And those impacts made me lost any interest to other woman. I don’t know what you did to me to make me feel like crazy in love with you… You’re so unique, and I can’t find someone like you.”
“And I feel the same, that’s why I was mad at you when you didn’t gave me the reason why you disappeared like a bubbles back then. And now that I know, It makes me regret not telling you how I felt towards you. I would say, the sooner, the better but I think it was a blessing in disguise…” I pause to see if he got it.
“Why? Because you know that until now, I still like you?”
“And just a proof that I’m the best. And maybe it’s the universe will to let us meet again in our better version of ourselves. ” I said proudly and it left him smiling like idiot.
“You’re right. And if it’s fate that rekindled our connection, then it’s my free will to court you again.”
I was taken aback by the last words he said…
“Court? Seriously?”
“Of course, please be my architect in this project. I will seriously pursue you this time, Elliana. ”
I don’t know if the universe is making fun of us since it seems like a Celestial Collision that emphasized unexpected yet powerful connection between me and Roscoe.
“I’m already your architect, the deal was closed earlier, right?” I chuckled and meet his gaze.
“Let’s see if you can win this heart again, Roscoe.” I said and give him a smile.
No man can make me feel this way, It’s Roscoe whose impact is powerful that only him can tame the waves inside me, only him can make me smile and laugh. Only him who brings peace and love. That’s why when stars align, then I’ll give the assurance he wanted back then.
“I will work for it, and I’ll wait.”
See? Even the words he uttered can make an enormous impact in to my heart.
