Hi Inkwell community!
I'm Olamide. I pride myself as a person that loves creating, whether it's through engineering, coding, music, business or writing.
I'm a Civil and Environmental Engineering student at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, where I spend most of my time solving calculus, designing and trying to understand stability of structures. My passion for creation doesn't quite end there, LOL .
Along the way, I inadvertently stumbled into coding, and it was something that I couldn't help but pay attention to. Now, I design web apps, prototype AI-based products(chatbot for businesses), and build full-stack projects with React, Firebase, PostgreSQL, and more. There's this magic that happens when you construct an idea with code, it is quite similar to watching a building go from concept to existence.
Along with engineering and technology, I also have an entrepreneurial attitude. I co-own a clothing brand that merges personality and fashion. From writing the code for an online shop to testing how to develop my brand on social media, I like building things from scratch.
And then… music. I enjoy recording songs, messing with melodies, and using music as a secondary method of creativity. @fiona777 couldn't stop hyping me about my voice, lol. We met on Ecency and have become really good friends.
I also play chess, which is a big part of my life. From playing chess, I have developed the ability to be patient, think strategically, and keep calm in high-pressure situations, which are skills that I can apply to almost everything that I do. I joined the chess community where I partake in the hive chess competition which occurs weekly. My alias name on Lichess is just_ola by the way.
In the end of it all, I'm someone who likes to learn, build, and push limits. Whether it's designing, coding, singing, or mapping out my next chess move, I'm always looking for ways to improve and grow.
