Call Me a Writer

The drums rolled as I matched to the centre of the circle. Written all over my face was a strong assurance that this feat was mine to own. Yes! My heart was fixed, and so was my gaze.

But as the chants became louder and louder, I felt courage leave me and reason become ensnaring. A stumping sound emerged as the chants began to drown in it.
It was from my chest, and it was fear or maybe it was awareness.
How funny to consider that my decision might have been too hasty. Maybe I'm not even ready. What if I don't succeed?

As I knelt down to pick up the symbol of acceptance, my hands quivered and my mind raced. A thousand questions flooded my subconscious and occupied my mind. Just then, a voice from the chanting circle came ringing, forcing my senses to a stillness as I listened breathlessly...
"You have just begun the journey to a world of adventure and uncertainty. A world of rebirth, concreting and discovery. A world of creation at your own discretion. Only do well not to drop your eloquence tools, for they are your transcending vehicle"

The book and pen I had picked up marked the beginning of my journey, truly it's been filled with learning, unlearning and relearning. This adventure sure has its sores, yet it reveals a soothing happiness and anticipation of the future.

With that, please call me a 'writer' in whose ink is the power to create.
