This is a pretty nice story, I think we've all had mornings where nothing seems to go as planned and we're left at the end of it wondering where we went wrong.

I think in Mia's case, everything goes badly but also gets resolved with ease. I think maybe she could have found it more of a challenge to get forgiveness, especially with the construction site people. Being 45 minutes late to an interview would make it hard to even get into an office with the interviewer. I think she could have tried to get in to see them, neglecting the birthday party even longer, which would have made it more of a challenge to get forgiveness from the niece.

But still, it's a good story, that kind of has the moral of, "failing to prepare, is preparing to fail." Which is a saying I have always loved, and I believe it is so true.
