Phil got his first camera on his tenth birthday and he had became a very skilled photographer at the age of 15 because of his love for photography. He found photography to be his solace and happiness whenever he felt down and faced with problems with family.
He was a weird photographer to many because he didn't take normal pictures like the other photographers they knew. Phil was a photographer of shadows and he did it with so much creativeness. His mum had noticed his love for shadows and she got his first camera on his birthday to keep memory of them.
Phil became 25 years old and he became a popular shadow photographer with his work in almost every art gallery where people gather to appreciate his work. He got invited to a press conference that would make him more popular than he was.
Phil was reluctant to show his face to such a public but he reminded himself the reason he had always loved shadow photography from little kid. He decided to attend the press conference, well dressed with his favourite camera cleaned for any random shadow he would see on the way there.
His camera roll had lots of shadow images of himself, his parents, friends and many more people he knew nothing about but loved their shadows. He walked into the press conference elegantly, he was so good looking and had a great smile way better than a lot of people had imagined him to be.
The first question thrown at him got him smiling with an affirming look that he was expecting to hear such a question. Why shadow photography? A curious journalist asked from the crowd holding her mic higher to get a clear response.
The shadows hid their hurts, pains and unhappiness. It showed just a figure that don't seem to have any issue or problem to solve.
I've always wished to be like a shadow, it never get hurt, hides when the sun is gone and comes out again when a light is turned on.
Shadows are way more than what they seem to be, and I am here to keep discovering them through photography.
Phil continued to express his love for shadows and what they meant to him. Those present and watching live online were amazing that there was a person who thought so about shadows. Phil got so many fans and supporters to grow his gallery of shadow pictures.
He was sponsored to go on a world tour to explore and keep discovering through photography. He was so happy and he set out for his trip with so much excitement and uncertainty. He was only sure that he would get to see more shadow pictures with different meanings.
Phil got to a small town while on his adventure and he met a few people who recognized who he was. He was told about a place called the shadow Valley where people are shadows but lived like humans. It was a small village that humans didn't dare to go near except they wanted to remain there forever doing nothing.
Phil got so interested and curious to find the place out and visit it. He got directions but no one agreed to go with him because they dreaded the place. Phil thought maybe the place was the reason he loved taking pictures of shadow and got an opportunity to know about the place.
It didn't take a long time before Phil found the shadows valley. It was just as described. A very small village, shadows walking around that he could make counts of. Every shadows had what they were doing and Phil couldn't help but just stand still to watch them.
An old lady tapped him from the back and said something that changed his life.
Why not make a story of what you're looking at? Tell the world about shadows using real pictures of just shadows living like humans. No words from them, just learning from their movements and postures.
Your skill is perfect for the job, they have all been wishing to get their story told and they know you're here... Get to work Shadow Valley Hero.
The old lady walked away and turned into a shadow. Phil began work immediately, he didn't have time to be surprised by what had happened to him since he had always saw shadows as mysteries.
Thanks for reading!!!
His love for shadows even made shadows communicate with him.
what a mystery.
Indeed, and he didn't find it mysterious
The man simply just loved shadows. This was a good read
Yeah, thanks for reading
They must've been a fan of this work, I mean if I had someone dedicate his whole life to taking pictures of a shadow and I can a shadow, I'd be a fan. Another lesson I learnt was never let people talk you down when you have your heart set on something no matter how scary it might be. I referenced this from the part where nobody accepted to go with him to shadow valley but he went anyways. Good write as always
Wow you got that lesson right, he sure didn't let anything take him back. Thanks for stopping by 🙌
The Shadow Photographer. When I first read the title I thought the story was about a paparazzi or a stalker 😅 Fortunately, I was wrong and the story was about a guy who loves to take pictures of shadows. Also, the concept of a valley that only shadows lived was very interesting. For someone like Phil who loved taking pictures of shadows almost to the point of obsession the place must seemed like a paradise.
Haha a paparazzi or stalker? Why didn't I think that? It would have made another great story 😅
A paradise indeed, you could tell from the fact that he didn't find anything there as a mystery to be scared about.

This is an interesting take on the prompt. A man who likes to photograph shadows, who himself does not enjoy being the center of attention:
It seems a place in which shadows live would be the perfect place for Phil to make a home.
Your tone is consistent in this piece and you certainly use the prompt well. Thank you for sharing this story with us. We appreciate that you actively engage with other authors in the community.
