Hello @mishelle90, we see that this is your first post in three years. Welcome back to Hive.

Thank you for posting in The Ink Well, but please take note of our rules, which are posted at the top of The Ink Well community home page. We only accept short stories in this community and they have to at least meet the minimum length of 350 words although the ideal range is 700-1500 words. We not accept serial fiction.

We hope you'll come back with a short story that fits our community!

In the meantime, please have a look around and get to know how our community works. A few important callouts:

  • We are all about quality short stories and engagement.

  • We ask everyone who posts in The Ink Well to read and comment on at least two other writers' work in the community for every story published.

  • You can find an overview of our community and what we're about in our manifesto.

  • We provide weekly writing prompts to inspire our community of creative writers.

  • You can find many fiction writing resources in our catalog of fiction writing tips.

  • To learn more about the creative nonfiction genre and what we're looking for, read our FAQ and tips for success.

  • We recommend the article, Help for the Grammatically Challenged, which provides important tips on how to use Google Docs to draft your stories. It will point out errors that need to be fixed, and you can fix them by clicking on them.

Keep writing!

Loved the picture. I was kind of left wanting to know more about this child. You might want to go into the rules of the community, since they don't accept this kind of chapter-like model. You might try Scholar & Scribe for that. Cheers! 😁
