"Hey Tasha, good morning, and how was your weekend?" Theresa asked on seeing Tasha at the entrance to the office.
"Mtchewww." Tasha hissed as she gave Theresa a stare expressing her disgust for Theresa even more.
"Is she okay? I have not seen her since last week, so I wonder when we had the time to quarrel." Theresa said to their other friend Maryam.
"So you guys did not quarrel, and she is acting that way? There is definitely something wrong somewhere, and I will not advise you to return the energy until we find out what is going on with her." Maryam advised.
"Can you help me talk to her?" Theresa pleaded with Maryam to get to the bottom of the problem.
Maryam had to become an advocate; while in the office, she was busy monitoring Tasha so she would know when she is less busy and can meet her to have a conversation with her as well as know what the problem is and why she is acting the way she has been acting. Even Maryam got cold feet from Tasha, but it was not as bad as that of Theresa, which makes getting to the bottom of the problem very important since the last time they were together, they parted ways smiling, and now they are left wondering why the attitude from Tasha.
Maryam continued to spy on Tasha, waiting for a good time to walk up to her, and the moment she knew Tasha would be leaving the office for lunch, she rushed to meet her. At least while they have lunch, they can have the conversation about her new character and why things changed.
"Hey Tash, can we have lunch together like we always do?" Maryam asked politely.
"I don't really think I want to do that today, but it is fine since you asked." Tasha responded reluctantly.
"So the usual joint? Is that where you are headed? Let me grab my bag." Maryam asked
"Not the usual joint; I have a new spot, and after all, Theresa will be at the usual spot, and currently I cannot stand her." Tasha responded.
They saw Theresa on their way out, and Tasha gave her the scariest stare of her life, accompanied with the longest hiss, making everyone that saw know that they were having problems; close friends who behaved like sisters now don't want to even see each other. After they got to the new spot and were having lunch, Maryam felt it was the best time to actually know what was really going on.
"So tell me, what did Theresa do to you over the weekend that is causing all this drama? Because on her part, she said she has no memory of you and her quarreling." Maryam inquired.
"It is a long story, and I really don't want to talk about it because of how much it hurts." Tasha responded.
"If it hurts, then you need to let it out; that way you will feel better." Maryam suggested just getting Tasha to talk.
"Well, if you really want to know, then here goes nothing: on Friday after work I received a call from Theresa. I kept shouting, Hello, can you hear me? but she was busy talking to probably her sister. I wanted to hang up, but something just couldn't let me do it, so I stayed and listened to their conversation." Tasha said.
"Damn, it must be a butt dial, so what were they talking about?" Maryam inquired so as to get more information.
"She kept saying how she would snatch my boyfriend at any given opportunity and how I don't deserve him and how she would treat him better. What kind of friend would have such thoughts cross her mind, and today she is here acting all nice and making it look like I am the troublesome one? I am so done with this friendship," Tasha said as she buried her head in her palms.
"Wow, now I see the cause of your annoyance. Can you at least confront her and let her know how you feel instead of just cutting off without even talking about the issue?" Maryam suggested
"At least you now know the cause of the problem, and I am sure you would let her know, so there is no need to say a word to her. Butt dialing helped save me from a boyfriend snatcher." Tasha said as she picked up her bag to leave the restaurant.
