It was a beautiful summer day, and the sun was shining brightly as Emily, Jack, and their friends gathered at the local park to play a game of Frisbee. As they tossed the disc back and forth, they noticed a strange man walking towards them, wearing a bright purple suit and a top hat.
"Who's that weirdo?" Emily whispered to Jack.
"I have no idea," Jack replied, squinting at the approaching figure.
As the man got closer, they could see that he had a bushy mustache and a big smile on his face. He introduced himself as the Great Zoltar, a traveling magician.
"I have a special trick to show you all today," Zoltar announced, pulling a small, shiny box out of his pocket. "I will now make this Frisbee disappear!"
The group of friends watched in amazement as Zoltar waved his hands over the box and made the Frisbee vanish into thin air. They clapped and cheered, impressed by the magician's skill.
But things took a turn for the absurd when Zoltar decided to perform another trick. He asked for a volunteer from the group, and Emily eagerly raised her hand. Zoltar instructed her to close her eyes and hold out her arms, and then he placed a live chicken in her hands.
"Ta-da!" he exclaimed. "Now open your eyes and behold, a chicken has appeared out of nowhere!"
Emily's eyes flew open and she let out a scream as the chicken flapped its wings and squawked, startling everyone. The chicken managed to escape from Emily's grasp and flew around the park, causing chaos as it chased after the Frisbee and pecked at people's feet.
The Great Zoltar was so amused by the chicken's antics that he couldn't stop laughing.
"Oh my, I didn't expect that to happen!" he chuckled as he chased after the chicken, trying to catch it.
The group of friends joined in the pursuit, running around the park as the chicken led them on a wild goose chase. Eventually, they managed to catch the chicken and return it to its owner, who had been frantically searching for it.
As they said goodbye to the Great Zoltar and returned to their game of Frisbee, they couldn't stop laughing at the absurdity of it all. It had been a truly unforgettable day, filled with magic, laughter, and, of course, a runaway chicken.
Meanwhile, do you think Zoltar's tricks are genuine?
I should also add this;
I joined the Inkwell Community just yesterday, and I already love it here. The stories I have read are awesome and intriguing.
I saved this story in my draft not knowing exactly what to do with it, until today. I sincerely hope it's appropriate for the community. If it's not, please tell me (the comments)how to handle it next time. Lastly, I haven't written a fictional story in ages, but my interest was rekindled after reading some of @seki1 's stories(you're an awesome writer by the way).

A chicken giving a wild goose chase 😂.
@agmoore and @jayna , what do you think?
I think you know how to pick 'em, @seki1, especially if there is a laugh in it 😄
😂😂
Aww, thank you too.
You spin an entertaining tale, @omosefe. Your pacing is excellent. It moves the story forward. Dialogue also is good. It seems you like to write and have a knack for it. You should fit in nicely in our community.
Please acquaint yourself with our rules so your integration into Inkwell culture is seamless. One thing we ask of each author is that they comment on at least two stories for each piece submitted.
Thank you for sharing this with us. One note you might like to read @jayna's essay on author intrusion. When you do, you might rethink that last line in your story.
We look forward to reading more stories (and creative nonfiction) from you. We are happy you have found us.
Thank you so much for your kind words.
I have read the rules, and will continue to stay updated.
