Old Granny and Pappy welcomed Tade and Tayo home, it was the first time the twins were visiting their grandparents. It is an Easter celebration, even though it is just a few days before they head back; Tade, the bold of the twins, wants to make use of it judiciously, while Tayo, the timid one, plans to keep close to the old ones.
“Something is wrong”, Tade noticed that there was no electricity in the building, he thought maybe it was nothing big but after like three hours, he went to talk to old Pappy, Tade asked “ Sir, I noticed that there was no electricity supply since coming in . Hope there is no problem?” he concluded, then old Pappy answered, “ we noticed the electricity tripped off two days ago and it is just our building only. We have called for aid but we couldn't get one yet.” He confirmed Tade’s suspicion. “ So we are sleeping in darkness this night,” Tade said, and old Pappi nodded his head in agreement. Tade left his grandfather and went straight to his room, racking his head as an Electrical electronic undergraduate of the University of Science and Technology Garki. His twin brother Tayo was worried looking at how disturbed his brother was. Tayo said, “ I will not sleep in darkness tonight, and if nothing is done, It will ruin my holiday”.
Tayo went to the kitchen and saw that it is only the freezer that could try keeping stuff edible but some other things are defrosting and getting spoiled in the fridge. He also noticed that his grandfather's clothes needed washing and the washing machine was useless as there was no electricity supply to work with. He said to himself, “How can I help my Grandparents this way when everything is not working, and how come they are living comfortably with all this?” he concluded and went to search for Tade, who had gone to track the issue that made the electricity supply cut off.
On Tayo's way, he met Tade, who told him that he had a plan, “ Tayo, are you with me on this one or not? “ he asked, and Tayo said no problem, I am one hundred percent. Tade then continues saying that he is just coming from Granny's room who denied him the access of looking through the meter board. Tade continues, I want you to put a dose of this sleeping pill in their supplement so that when they are asleep, I can go check the meter board, he concluded, emphasizing that he can not sleep in darkness and the electricity supply won't ruin his Easter holidays.
After eating, Tayo was scared, and fear wore him up like a garment, but Tade quickly held Tayo and told him about the big picture: if electricity came in, they could do what they liked in comfortable mode, and Tade reminded him about the adventure they are playing on their PlayStation. Tade warned “Without electricity supply, our stay here will be a mission failed” This boosted Tayo's morale and he dished a pill each with the supplements that old Granny and Pappy take after the meal and immediately they yarn and went to sleep, Tade go straight to the store, bring out the pliers, tester, rubber gloves with boots and Tayo joined him as they carry a ladder to help Tade gain the height to the meter. Tayo asked as they were going, “Do you know what you want to do up there? “ and Tade said, “Don't worry, I will get the job done”.
They stood the ladder, and Tayo held it down as Tade climbed up and carefully looked through the meter; luckily for him, he saw that one of the wires screwed to the meter had come loose from the side, and after thorough analysis, he saw that that was what might be the problem. Then he brings out his tester to lose the screws, and as he puts the wire on it, it sparks, and Tayo runs away, leaving his twin brother there. Tade, seeing that Tayo has run away said “Necessity is the mother of invention, even if thunder strikes here and now, still I stand, I will get the job done “ Tade made this affirmation statement, put the wires back to their rightful place and screwed it then electric supply comes up and he came down, carried the ladder back and quietly dropped all needed tool back to the store.
Immediately Tayo saw that the electricity supply was back, he ran out of his room to congratulate his brother and lied that he had to go check if old Granny and Pappy were still asleep then Tade just smiled knowing his brother had lied after seeing his brother took his heels after the spark, he just said “ when Old Granny and Pappy wake up and asked about the electricity supply, let me answer to that “he concluded.
Old Granny and Pappy woke up a few minutes later and saw that the electricity supply was back in surprise, they asked both children what had happened and Tade narrated a very odd story he said ” After you slept sir, a heavy breeze blew and we both ran outside to check what was happening then we see the meter spark up and electric supply comes “ he concluded. Both grandparents were surprised and knew that something was wrong but were unconscious when the scenery happened, so they just opened their mouths agape. Then, the twin quickly left for the kitchen and bathroom and then to their room to go on with their adventure.

Well, although with a touch of fantasy at the end, you have to know that electricity is dangerous and only experts should maneuver with it!!! I would have been like Tayo too and would have run. hahaha. Greetings
