Getting home, Denis met his blossom friend Obina sleeping on the couch already. Denis did not want to bother him and went to the bathroom straight up to freshen up. Obina woke up as he heard the sound of the shower and called for Dennis, and Dennis answered: “Eje,” which means blood, as that is what they call each other from a young age.
Obina, Dennis's friend, was also the same age interval as Dennis; they attended the same secondary school and University, too. After six months, Roseline decided to visit him after several dates and Denis couldn't believe it was too good to be true as she reciprocated all his love, supported him with motivational talks when he was down, surprised him with random gifts, and liked just as Dannis does too so the relationship is intertwined with love and respect.
As usual, Denis always updated Obina as he told him he wanted to introduce him to her so Obina was at home that day awaiting his friend's Lady. Ding dong, the bell rings, and she comes in. Dennis and Roseline hugged each other and pecked, then Dennis introduced Obina to her.
Dennis noticed a change in her behavior immediately after Obina came in from the visitor's room to the parlor, but Dennis thinks she is a shy type and notices she has shaken it up after she decided to cook the meal for them. After Dennis wanted to show her his cooking style.
She went to the kitchen and made them rice and beef stew, set the dining table, and called them up to come to eat; it shook Dennis the more as she became free as if she was at her home.
Roseline also came from a decent home and was a self-sufficient woman who lived in close ZD, around the GwagwaLada area of Abuja Nigeria, and it would take Denis an hour's drive to her house. Denis also paid her a visit twice before she decided to pay him back.
Obina approved Roseline and told Dennis that he would never allow Dennis to look elsewhere when he tasted her food and confirmed that she was a good cook. After lunch, Obina left, leaving Roseline and Dennis to continue their love story and have their privacy.
Immediately after Obina left, Roseline made it clear that she wasn't expecting his friend to be at home, and she just had to quickly shake it up. She said she only wants to have her man with her alone then Dennis apologized that it was no big deal as he just wanted to introduce her to him as Obina was his childhood friend and the case closed. They talked and talked, played indoor games,read short stories and enjoyed each other's company and she left three hours later, it is a weekend and off day for both of them. Denis wanted to take her out to shop but she said why shop when she was satisfied and really enjoyed being with him and if she needed some kinds of stuff, she could go get that herself whilst if he feels like to shop with her it not be that day as she is taken her experience with him back home knowing that he is cool to be with but wasn't aware that he was such an interesting mate with well mannered behavioral attitudes. Dennis was lost because he had never been complimented in such a way before, and that sprouted more love for her from him.
She left Dennis after he escorted her out of his house feeling on top of the world as she also stood by him like a queen boasting with her king. She entered her car and drove off.
After an hour, Denis called her to confirm if she was already at home, which was affirmative, and their love story continued.
A year later, Dennis proposed to Roseline, which she accepted, and that is where the problem started. All of a sudden, Obina did not like Roseline again because he claimed that he had taken his friend's attention away from him and Dennis kept telling him that; he is his friend and should be able to stick to that and not to meddle with his love affairs but Obina declined to what Dennis says by emphasizing that he has been with him from a child and someone won't just come and take him away from him all of a sudden.
This goes on like this then later Obina does not come to Dennis's house again as usual and keeps an arm's length towards their relationship believing that Dennis will call him as usual but Dennis already decided to man up noting to Obina the last time they met that he had never tried to interfere with Obina's love life and if he won't heed to that, their friendships will be far fetched from distance and that was the reason why Obina decides to stay to himself.
Six months later, Dennis and Roseline planned and set a wedding date, which later boomeranged and everyone heard around the town. Dennis went to Obina's house himself to inform Obina and wanted him to be his best man for the day, which he accepted and wished them the best of luck.
Celebration, celebration galore, preparation and the wedding remain one week.

Dennis opened his mouth agape and told her that she should have told him earlier.
She replied telling him that if she did, he likely would not believe her, and she was afraid of losing him was the greatest problem.

He sighed, forgave her, and played along as if nothing had happened.
The wedding eve comes along, and the message Dennis got was the receipt; he left it there, knowing his friend Obina would want him to look at it when he was near. Actually, the wedding was set up for a court wedding on the Eve and Church weekend on Sunday.
When they entered the register office, and after signing all necessary documents to affirm Dennis and Roseline as husband and wife. Obina showed him the message he got lately and asked Dennis if he had received it either, knowing that Dennis is an emotional man and wants to work on that.
Dennis said yes, that he had the same message, and that they would talk about that later.
Dennis just pretended to be occupied with the court wedding, and on the church wedding day, he pretended not to know what was happening as it was the time to show his friend that he was not the sharpest tool in the shed, and Dennis did that perfectly.
After the wedding, Obina called Dennis to say that they had not seen each other since the wedding day and that the matter was of great urgency. Dennis just told him point blank that his wife already told him everything, then ended the conversation with his favorite native statement, “ Nzogbu Enyimba eyin,” which means Elephant keeps moving forward.
Obina dropped the call and angrily traveled out of the country. It pains him that his friend Dennis played him from the start of the wedding till it ends knowingly. He, Obina,earlier in their life was not the sharpest tool in the shed despite all his advantages, and in the end, he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed either a fact that was terrifying and humiliating to him just as Dennis felt when broken to pieces.
