Kate and Delle are still in this argument, and it is after thirty minutes, but they still continue spitting at each other. Kate spitted, “ I will not submit to your aggressive shout if you don't swallow the Humble Pie.” Delle kept shouting,” I have no Humble Pie to swallow “ and I better quit being friends with you then. Kate said, “No problem, that will be the best thing to do,,” so they went separate ways without even saying goodbye.
Getting home, Kate took in angrily, greeted her husband casually, and wanted to freshen up, but Francis, her husband, knew something was wrong, noticing that his wife was somehow aggressive and Moody. “ My woman, when you are done please come here and let's communicate as I won't want my wife's mood to be tampered with because of one thing or one person,” he said jokingly while Kate smirked and left then came back when she was done and after eating, they both went to a cushioned chair in the parlour and sleep in a cuddly way .“ why are you so in anger range earlier, what was the problem wife,” he said softly, then she replied, “ it was my friend and office colleague, Delle, “I overheard her talking to the director on the land line telling him that she was the only one who took charge of the project meanwhile, it was a hell over stress I went through in particularly to make sure that the project was done, I can blatantly say that I did the project only,” she told her husband, Francis, while her head was on his chest. Then Francis replied, “ first, you have to apologize for eavesdropping on her call because if you haven't heard anything, there will not be any problem”. Kate replied by saying that her friend lied to gain favor from the director and excluded her which is wrong then Francis answered, if it is a lie or not or right or wrong, do not forget a native tale-say which states “ two people can not be lost in a lied-to situation if the person lied to don't know he or she is being lied to, the lier knew he or she was lying”. If your friend lied about her intentions towards the project saying she was tired and made you do the real work to the execution of the project, and lied to undermine your teamwork for personal gain and recognition from the director, let her be herself as you now know she values recognition than your friendship and money in totality and that is her kind and there should be no big deal about that and thank God you know that earlier. Even if she was promoted because of the project, are you in competition with her anyways?” Kate answered, “ I am not in competition with her, and I am very sure of that; I just do my part in the project for solution and growth, that is all”. So tomorrow, eat the Humble Pie and tell her you are sorry for eavesdropping on her calls, and wish her the best of luck for your heart space healing and forgiveness. He concluded. And she answered but I will always keep her at arm's length and make the boundary firm. They both laughed and turned on the television to watch their favorite television show, which showed an unknown discovery to humankind.
The next day, Francis and Kate left for work as usual as Kate is an accountant and Francis is a Psychologist. Getting to work, Kate saw Delle, who wanted to snub her, and Kate called her name. She did not answer the first time but immediately she heard her name again, she turned back. Kate told her she was sorry to have eavesdropped on her calls and wished her the best, and Delle said, “Okay, no problem, I forgive you,” and they went their separate ways. As Kate was about to start her daily work activities, she heard her telling Didi, one of their colleagues that Kate was a hater and Jealous about the just concluded project acknowledged by the director. Unknowingly to Delle, Kate heard this and Kate felt pain but knew Delle better now for not just a lier but also a backstabber.” I forgive you for my health's sake, “ Kate soliloquize“ as she goes to her office and daily work commenced.
A meeting was called before lunchtime time and to Kate's surprise, she was the one who was given the accolade due to the fact that the firm knew Delle to be lazy even though she was older than Kate in the firm and also saw Kate contributing from the first day of service and still even if she did not say anything about the project, her style of language structure using syntax and grammar still showcase in the write-up setting.
She couldn't believe her eyes but cried without even knowing while Delle too couldn't believe it but her face was down in shame. It was a humble pie , really it was.
She went home very joyously and told her development to her husband, and they celebrated her win while her friendship with Delle was at arm's length. Her husband asked her after he pumped a bottle of champagne he was holding and said,” Who swallowed the humble pie now?”. While kate kept laughing in a gigantic manner.

Delle wasn't a good friend at all and Kate was better off without such.
