In a world full of magic and fantasy, there was a hive of ants that was trapped in a sealed glass box and fed by a young man named Carlos.
In this hive, there was a young ant who dreamed that the whole hive would have its freedom, the name of the young dreamer ant is "Pajo". The young Pajo was a rebellious ant and was always thinking about how to escape.
While the rest of the hive was working he was always glued to the glass that kept them locked up, one day the brother of the young Carlos who was feeding him, arrived home early and while he was going to his room, he realized that his brother's room door was open, he realized that the door of his brother's room was open and when he was going to enter to take the bag where the ants were locked up to release them in the courtyard of his house, Carlos his brother arrived and found him in his room with the anthill in his hands and asked him - "What are you doing in my room and with my anthill in your hands, I wanted to release them. Right?". To which his brother replies with a smile and says - "The truth is that when I passed in front of your room, I could see that the door was open and I went in to free the ants, which I have told you so much to do it yourself." Carlos pulls him out of his room and locks the door.
Pajo was saddened to see that Carlos' brother, could not free them. Pajo noticed that every time Carlos fed them he always left the door open. One day he asked to talk to the queen of the hive to propose a strategy to escape, when he managed to talk to the queen she told him that what they should do is to climb all the cover that Carlos always removed and placed on the table and then go out to get food from the hive, that if everyone climbs and hold on to the cover they can leave the enclosure and then escape through the window overlooking the courtyard, the queen told Pajo to let her analyze her plan to see if it would work or not.
On day 3, the queen sends for Pajo and tells him that she agrees with his escape plan, all the ants in the hive start working on the escape plan, Carlos arrives to his room as usual and begins his daily routine and without noticing he opens the cover of the anthill, places the cover on the table and goes out to look for the food of the hive and that is when all the ants leave the cover and begin to walk to the window and down the wall to the courtyard of the house.
One hour later, Carlos arrives to the room after having been late because he was saying goodbye to his brother who would travel for a while to do a specialization in another country, after throwing the food to the anthill he puts the cover and lies down on his bed to rest.
Pajo, together with the Queen of the hive and all the ants, are already free, they proceed to look for a place to settle down, but far from Carlos' sight, after so much looking for a place they manage to find a perfect one to establish the hive, but when they are all working, other friendly insects arrive to talk to them and advise them all.
When the hive had escaped about 4 days before, Carlos realizes that there was not a single ant and that the hive is empty, he starts to check his room in search of the hive and finds nothing, he looks out the window to see if he can locate it and does not see a single clue as to the whereabouts of the ants.
Once the hive was established, all the ants realized that now they had to work 10 times more than before, when they were imprisoned by the young Carlos. And they began to blame Pajo for everything.
One thought that came to Pajo's mind is that freedom has a price and they just have to be all perseverant and stick together and they will see that their situation will improve little by little.
One day the whole hive could realize that freedom has a price and that if they united, they could achieve whatever they set their minds to, that being free is the best thing that could have happened to the hive and Pajo learned that hope is the last thing to lose and that if they have a dream they should work to make it come true.

I am so charmed by your drawings and your story that I have to comment personally, before I comment as Inkwell. First of all: you did these in Paint? Wow. I use paint and that is really hard to get a good effect.
Then, on to the story. It is a heroic tale, related in the simplest terms. Kudos for avoiding author intrusion. You keep the ant's perspective throughout and do not engage in moralizing from the narrator's POV.
Freedom has a price. That is a hard lesson and not always a price people are willing to pay. Great story. Thanks for an enjoyable read.
@agmoore, Thank you for your comment, I really hope to improve more and more and regarding drawing with paint is difficult, I hope with my next story to cause a greater impression on each of the people who read it. Thank you very much to you and the ink well community.
This is a wonderful story, with a likable protagonist. Can a little ant be heroic? Yes. Although it takes time, Pajo succeeds in gaining his freedom and leading his fellow ants to a new hive. (interesting choice of words: HIVE)
It would be fine to link this story under the prompt post because there is a strong antagonist and there is a lot of rolling: the cover, the ants descending from the window. It works fine. Linking to the prompt post helps the story to get attention.
Thank you for sharing this story with us. We appreciate that you engage with other authors in the community.
@theinkwell, It is a pleasure for me to write in The ink well, and if I edit this story to enter the contest, is it possible?
another question when i edit this story, can i change the tags and put in the contest tags?
Freedom loving ants... quite the imaginative story that mirrors real world (historical) events. Instead of humans rebelling from their oppressors, you replaced them with ants as if implying that although ants are week on their own, they're a force to be reckoned with when united.
A story that demonstrates the importance of thinking and being diligent if we want any change in our lives, and that perhaps at first it may not seem the most reasonable, but if there is courage and hope, we can achieve many and better things as happened to Pajo.
thank you my friend @pjpavan for this well told and specially illustrated story. Greetings to you.
