After an hour there is a knock at her door, once again snatching her dream of beauty, for 50 years do not pass in vain.
She opens it and sees a 14-year-old brat with his cap backwards, his shoes worn out and his clothes covered in dirt.
"Sir, can I have the ball back?" the brat says almost pleadingly.
"Well, who's going to pay for the damages?" replies Gordon.
"Well, I don't have any money now," says the boy, stretching his dusty pockets.
"What about your parents?"
"Please don't tell them anything or I'll be punished."
"I'll only give you the ball back if you bring me a window to replace the one you broke," the gentleman said loudly,
shushing the boy and slamming the door loudly"
The mute boy had no choice but to return to the field empty-handed, his friends who were hiding came out screaming.
"He's back! He's back!"
"Do you think I brought the ball?"
"Yes!" they all say.
"I need help!"
"What for?"
"I got to thinking what's the best thing to do, and that's to pay Mr. Gordon out the window," the others were speechless.
"It's easier to raise for a new ball," Aaron shouted.
"Besides, what would you do it for if he's just a curmudgeon?" surmised Billy.
"he's just a curmudgeon, so .... he saved you from the truck when you were learning to ride a bike, tell me Jorge".
"well it's true Gordon saved me and by the way he didn't tell my parents," Jorge said with his hand on his chin.
"And you Valeri, who helped you get your cat down from the tree, Josh, who paid for your groceries when you lost your errand money?
everyone was silent.
"I claim it's not bad," said Chloe, "but James, how will we repay him?" she asked.
"We'll have to do something to make it up to Gordon."
"I know what we can do," Braum exclaimed.
Aaron covered Braum's mouth with his hand, "a garage sale."
"That was my idea," Braum shouted, Aaron stuck his tongue out at him derisively.
The plan was in motion James, Billy, Jorge, Valeri, Braum, Aaron, Josh and Chloe searched their homes for what was in good condition but not being used, toys, clothes and other items they took over the neighborhood curbside, it took them a week to sell it all. they immediately went to give it to Mr. Gordon, they knocked on the door with encouragement.
"Coming!", he opened the door and was surprised.
"Here you go, now can we have the ball back?" said James.
"Why are you bringing this money?"
"Well, we think you've helped us on occasion and it's clear we owe you the window."
"Okay, come in for a moment, I'll get the ball."
The brats looked at the shelf where more than twenty baseball trophies adorned the room and gasped.
"Oooh! those are my son's, too bad he's not here anymore", here you go.
"Thank you!" sounded in unison all the brats, they left and went back to their homes.
Gordon looked them in the eyes and knew what they did to get his ball back, he remembered his son as a child, that's why he gave them back the money without thinking about his window.
This reminded me of when I was a kid. No windows broken, but surely many similar incidents when playing football.
accidents, it is something common in the life of a child. many balls I lost by accident, more than one fall I have suffered.

Mr. Gordon seems like a good guy, at heart, even if he is a curmudgeon. We get the sense that he is very nostalgic for his son's childhood, which is bittersweet.
You have a little trouble with pronouns in this part, when it switches from describing Mr. Gordon to describing a woman:
If this refers to Mr. Gordon, it should be "his door," "his dream of beauty" and "He opens it."
Keep writing!
