In life, we meet different people every day; some impact our lives positively while some are the other way around, but irrespective of their impacts, we are either grateful for meeting them or wish we never met them. In my journey through adulthood, I've crossed paths with different kinds of people. There are some that I met, and along the way, we had to separate, but I wish to see them again because of their impacts on my life. Likewise, there are some that I never wished to meet again. I can say that is how we humans are; at times, we make decisions because we think we are the best at that time.
Taking my journey on the Hive as an example, this platform gave me friends. Even though I've never met quite a large number of them physically, they contributed and are still contributing positively to my life. This is one privilege that I've never taken for granted because I know very well that the company I keep contributes to my being. This is why it is necessary to keep positive-minded people around. These people speak positivity, opportunities, hard work, discipline, focus, and perseverance which have helped me a lot in facing life off the blockchain.
In discussion with my boarders, that is, those who introduced me to the hive, one of them introduced the platform to me and set a good foundation for me to build on @fashtioluwa, while the other put me through my journey on the platform with words of encouragement and support in every area where I needed it @jjmusa2004. Making sure I never gave up even when I got tired and wanted to just walk away. These two made a great impact on my life, and to date, I owe them such a great respect for not giving up on me when I wanted to give up myself.
"Hive is a learning platform; it's not for the professionals; you can learn to be a professional, so never say never, dear," @fashtioluwa said to me after introducing the platform, which I reluctantly took with levity.
"I'm not a grammarian; how will I put together correct statements without making mistakes, and you said mistakes are not condoned?" I asked him.
"You can't keep making mistakes forever; you learn from your mistakes and become a good writer", @fashtioluwa replied to me that year. I'm always applying his words, and today, I've learned, and I'm still learning daily. He laid a good foundation for me, and I'm glad I crossed paths with him.
I began writing, and at some point, I got tired and wanted to stop. Then I met @jjmusa2004, who always read my posts, comment, and upvote every one of my posts. I explained my dilemma to him, and he lent a helping hand. He was always there to put me through all my posts, reading and correcting my errors before making a post.
I decided to make a post one day, and I was asked to edit my write-up myself, which I did and posted. After that, I got good comments from people and the community I submitted to, and then he said to me, "You never can say until you try".
Since then, I began to write and edit my write-ups myself, and he is always reading and upvoting to date, encouraging me to intensify, research, and keep making quality posts. On these platforms, I've also met people who never got tired of my numerous questions; they are always there to put me through whatever challenges I face. The likes of @kingsleyy, @merit.ahama, @monica-ene, @emreal, @princessbusayo, @nwothini335, and @starstrings01. They all have impacted my life positively and meeting them was never a regret.
