He loved her so much that he could die for her. He could do anything for her no matter what it cost. Even until her last moment on earth, he did all he could to make sure she survived but as fate would have, that point was meant to be their last moment together. Erik spent the last three months following his lover's death reminiscing the moment they shared together. He felt his world crumble down. He spend his days spending money on alcohol and crying over her death. As he walked along his street to get alcohol as his usual routine, he notices a young girl following him. "It's just a coincidence." He thought to himself but until the next three days, the young girl keeps following him from his house to the beer store.

"Ella! Ella! Erik would often shout in his dream, seeing her walking away from her. At times, it seems like the shadow of Ella follows his everywhere he goes, he talks to her often but everyone else couldn't see what he was seeing.

"He's hallucinating." The doctor concludes when his mother takes him to the hospital, "as a result of his girlfriend's death and his obsession with alcohol."

The next day, in the evening, he made his way to the beer store nearest to his house to get some beer as usual. He suddenly notices the presence of the young girl behind him, he increased his pace a little and the young girl keeps following him. Erik thought it was a ghost and took to his heels, the little girl ran behind him immediately. After a while, Erik stopped running and decided to confront her.

"Who are you? Why do you keep following me around?"

The girl keep smiling at him without saying a word. Erik ignores her and continue his walk but the girl followed him again.

"Stop following me!" He shouted at her, then the girl started crying. He walked away from her and found a place to sit, the girl sat beside him silently.

"What's your name? He asked calmly.

"Sophia." She replied with a smile.

"Sophia, what do you want?"

"She has something to tell you." She replied.
"Who?"

The little girl pointed to their front but Erik sees no one standing in their front.
"Is someone there."

"Yes. The young girl replied looking down.

"I can see no one. Who are you? Are you human?

"The thing is......I have a special ability to see ghosts and speak to them. She's your girlfriend right? Ella?"

At that moment, Erik took to his heels and ran as fast as his legs could carry him until he got to his house. Could that girl be real? Was it a dream again? He asked himself series of questions until he drift off in sleep.

In his sleep, Erik dreamed of the last moment with his girlfriend. They were both at the back seat in a taxi heading to the beach to celebrate their one year anniversary. Suddenly a truck hit their taxi from behind and their car somersaulted. Erik watch his girlfriend breath her last breath as he passed out beside her. When he woke in the hospital, they announced Ella's death and the driver's. He narrowly escaped death but he spent about three weeks in the hospital before he finally recovered.

The next day, Erik is determined to find the young girl from yesterday. Whether she is real or not, he wants to hear what she has to say. He found her sitting quietly on the bench they sat yesterday.
"Hi." He greeted her. But the girl refused to reply.

"Why did you run away," she shouted at him, "she has something to say why won't you listen."

"I'm sorry," I will listen now."

"Listen carefully, I won't repeat myself."

"Okay." Erik listened carefully as he looks around wondering if Ella was there.

"Erik, I'm sorry I left you alone. You must have been lonely as these while. You won't even eat like you always do before. I feel sorry too that I couldn't survive the accident. But you need to forget me now and move on with your life. You need to find happiness back and get back on your feet. I will always cheer you up. However, our accident is not coincident, it was planned by your friend, Henry, he was jealous that I choosed you over him. I know you would find it hard to believe but I want you to investigate. I can't leave this world unless justice is served for my death."

Erik burst into tears as he hears the girl speak. She spoke exactly like his girlfriend and the accident looked suspicious to him but he was busy mourning her death.

"Is she still here?"

"No. She left." The little girl stands to take her leave.

"You will find us here if you have anything to say." She said and walks away.

Erik will revenge her lover's death by finding justice at all cost. He walks away as he made his way to the police station. It won't be easy as he has no evidence but he will do all it takes to bring him to justice.

This is quite a twist in the story🥲
Erik's determination to seek justice is admirable. It will be interesting to see how he navigates finding evidence against Henry.
