Nancy was a young girl with an aspiring dream. A fencer whose dream was to win the State Championship for her country. She tried so hard and it seems she's not giving up on herself anytime soon. When she was young, her dad was her source of inspiration and motivator, whenever she loses, her dad would always encourage her not to feel down or sad. After some years she lost her dad due to an illness. She felt very bad even though she was just 10 years old then. She really missed her dad because she's more closer to her dad than her mother. Her mum works in a bank and she's always preoccupied with works and comes back home very late in the night, when nancy probably would have gone to bed.
When Nancy lost her dad, the communication gap between herself and her mother become more wider because the father was always the one bringing them together for breakfast and dinner, they go out for camps and holidays and so many exciting things families do together. Now that her dad is no more, she felt more lonely, her dad was her only friend and it seems her mother was not pleased with her fencing at the first instance. To her, fencing felt like something Nancy loved doing as a child because she won't stop chattering on and on with her father anytime she plays fencing with a new opponent.
She comes home losing at every training and competition, she never had the chance to be qualified to go for the state championship competition. Her mother would always pester her to give up and face her studies, it's obvious she's not talented. It always ended in a fight and a big dissagreement. Her mother thought the best thing for her is to give up on fencing and go back to class but she really likes fencing and will stop at nothing until she achieves her aim. However, her mother gave her one last chance to prove herself that she's really talented or else she would remove her from the fencing team and send her to class to study squarely.
Finally she met a new coach who was really good and trained her to be the best, she met a friend who's also a sport athlete who kept motivating her to be the best and give her all. When the potential in Nancy came out, she was amazed at herself. It wasn't easy for her because her coach trained her in a hard way, she would always wake up very early in the morning and run a very long distance with constant practicing day and night. She was happy that finally she is at the egde of reaching her dreams. When she was finally qualified to represent her country for the state championship, she won a gold and was so proud. Even though her mother wasn't there, she watched her at the television from her work place and put a smile on her face.

Your story depicts the challenges children can face in life without the love and guidance of a devoted parent. We get the sense that she may have thrived more if her father had not died while she was so young.

I like the way how you describe hte character of Nancy, she is goal orientated, depsite of such hard time of loosing father she still managed to reach her main goal.

That is sad that her mother doesn't give her more of her time, and more encouragement. But I was glad to see that she seemed a little proud in the end.
