Knowing shola has been the best thing that has happened to me. Though he was not my direct friend, he was introduced to me by another friend of mine whose name is Femi. Femi was a good friend and he is still a good friend but not as the person he introduced to me who has now become my very good friend. No wonder Femi once said,

“ Sam, you've hijacked my friend from me, knowing full well that he's been with me right from our childhood days.” “No ooo, Femi, Shola is our friend ooo, he's still loyal to you.” I retorted. We all laughed it off and left.

But after then, when I got home, I sat down to have a deep thought about what brought me and shola so close together even than the person that introduced him to me, but, it's then I realized that it's his ingenuity that brought us together. His ability to solve problems, his resourcefulness, and his cleverness are his best qualities that brought us together. No wonder he's able to solve my problem when I was trapped.

It all started in the year 2020, during the covid 19 pandemic that I got stuck, then the wave of the pandemic was ravaging everywhere and I had nothing to do with my life as I just left my sick father and siblings at Osogbo in Osun state, to another city for a greener pasture. Though, it's so hard for me to leave my family, I had no other option than to leave. Though, my dad was recovering from his ailment, but we were totally locked down in the city back then and for me to be able to bring food to the table for my family, o have to move to a new city where there's no lock down. But before I left, my dad was unhappy and he said,

“Sam, we love you, and we don't want you to go, but since we're left with no option, I wish you best of luck.” When I heard this, tears began to roll down my cheeks, but there's no one to console me as my dad instead of consoling me, also bursted into tears. It's such an emotional moments.

So, after this emotional engagement with my family, I bade both my dad and younger brother goodbye, but instead of leaving me to go to the park alone, I was accompanied to the motor park by my brother as he asked my dad,

“ Can I see him off to the park?” “ Yes, you can, my dad replied.”

So, when his permission has been granted, Joshua went inside to dressed up and saw me off to the park. At the park, I was feeling emotional, so also was Joshua, it even got to a point where I wanted to alight from the bus, but when i remembered my purpose of going to Ibadan, I held my peace and waved goodbye to Joshua, who could not control his tears while talking to me,

“ he sobbed and said, Sam, please take it easy when you get to your new place ooo.” “ I will, don't worry.” was my response to his warning.

So, after this, the bus zoomed off and there were challenges on our way to Ibadan as the border was manned by the security agencies that stopped us at the border. One of them even commanded all the passengers in our bus to come down which we did without any delay. But later, he said,

“ Why are you people not using your nose mask?” But a lady from among us replied, “we will use it, just allow us to go.”

So, when the security man heard this, he passed us and we left the border area for the city. But on getting to the city, I called a friend who had assured me of staying with him in his apartment, but his phone rang, but he didn't answer my calls, I called him severally, but all to no avail. It's then i soliloquized to myself,

“Sam, see what you have got yourself into, instead of staying back at Osogbo, you came here without having a place to lay your head.” It's a pathetic situation. But there's nothing I could do.

But suddenly, I scrolled down my phone and I saw a contact of a friend that was introduced to me by Femi whom I have called times without a number but not answering. So, I decided to call the said number and fortunately for me, the call was answer with a cool voice on the other side that said,

“ Please, who am I on to?” “Shola, this is Sam, a friend introduced to you by Femi.” I replied. He said, “ Oh, Sam, how are you?” “I'm not fine” “you are not fine?” What happened?” He said,” I'm stranded,” I replied.” Where? How?”

It was then I told him about my arrangement with Femi, but that when I got to Ibadan, I could not get in touch with him as he was not answering my calls. So, when Shola heard this, he was shocked and angry at the same time and he then asked for my whereabouts and I told him I was at the park. He said,

“Sam, give me a few minutes, I will catch up with you at the park. “ so, when I heard him saying this, I was happy and hopeful that there's already a place for me to rest and lay my head.

So, in no time, Shola showed up for me and took me to his residence where he gave me a warm welcome and after that, he begged me not to be angry with Femi as everything would be sorted out in due time. So, after our lengthy discussion, we went to sleep. But guess what, it's femi that came knocking at shola's door the following morning. When he came, he didn't know I was there,he was calling shola's name from afar, when he came in and saw me, he was shocked and said,

“ Sam, I'm sorry, I was charging my phone and couldn't see your call, not until this morning when I woke up.”

When I heard what he had said, I was sad and angry within myself thinking of what would have happened to me if Shola had not been living in Ibadan. But when I remembered what shola told me about anger, I calmed down myself and I replied him by saying,

“ No problem.” Though, he was not that comfortable with what he had done to me and seeing me with shola compounded his headache, but there's nothing he could do to prove himself right. But he managed to pull himself together. He even asked if I had eaten and I replied him saying,

“ Yes, I have eaten, just help me appreciate this guy that has been there for me since yesternight.” He then faintly thanked him and also promised to make it up to me.

So, as he was about to leave, he asked me,

“ Sam, are you comfortable with this place or will you follow me to my place?” It was then I told him, “ I'm comfortable staying with Shola. “ I thought shola would be angry with my answer, but after he had left, shola came back and embraced me, telling me welldone. I was happy with his kind gesture and ever since then, Shola and I have been doing things together more than expected of me. He has really solved so many of my problems and given me solutions to my predicament aside from the first one he did on my first visit to the city of Ibadan.
