It was during the second semester exam in my school, then I was in part 2 as we used to make reference to 200l in my school. On this particular Monday morning, I was coming from the examination after the reading and the lot of preparation for the exam with a friend. It's while I was coming from the exam hall that I met a friend and a course mate, Sanmi by name still reading and preparing so hard for the exam. So, while I was happy to be done with the exam and returning to my hostel to rest and later prepare for the next paper, I heard a loud voice calling me from the hostel library. Whose voice is this? It sounds like Sanmi's voice a friend of mine whose name is Quassim replied, it can't be Sanmi, I replied. Sanmi should also be on his way back to the hostel as we just finished writing the EGL 202, examination. But lol and behold, the person calling rushed down the stair case with his eyes heavy with sleep written all over his face.
When Sanmi came down, he was like, What's up with you Samson? I said I'm fine. He said, where are you coming from and when is our EGL 202 examination? Immediately he asked the two questions together, I look straight into our friends eye, Quassim, and didn't really know what to say, I and Quassim were looking and gazing into each others eyes wondering what was happening, I didn't know what to say, neither my friend Quassim who happened to be offering the same course with both of us. In short, we are all friends. But, when Sanmi was looking at our body language, he picked his phone to call the class representative whose name is Solomon, when he put the call across to Solomon, Solomon number was unreachable and it was at this point that Quassim summoned courage and told Sanimi that we are just coming from the examination hall and that the exam was over. It was a rude shock to Sanmi as he screamed and shouted in emotional agony. Why me? Was the question he asked. This was because it's a prerequisite course that will make him have extra year that he has just missed and that was all.
Though, it's not practically Sanmi's fault, but the fault of the school management and those in charge of the school examination time table. This said exam was supposed to take place at 3pm of the said monday and maybe that's why Sanmi was still reading hard for the examination not knowing that the time and even the venue for the examination has been change a day before the examination. The excuse given to us by the management of the school was that, the venue and the time of the examination clashed with another slated examination on that particular day and in lieu of that, a circular was released and this circular stated the change in time and venue of the examination.
This was what the HOD sent to the class representative and then, the class representative sent same to the class platform, but Sanmi a lone ranger didn't know that the time and venue has been changed, also, he has no android phone to access the information on the piece of information on the class platform. What a wasted effort to prepare for an unwritten examination.
After all what has happened, Sanmi and I went to the class rep, who later took us to the HOD to help us find solution to the issue on ground, we cited what led to him not writing the exam as regard the information being sent to us late.When the HOD will talk, he said there's nothing he can do as regard what happened, the HoD mr Lawal said the issue is beyond him and we should write a letter to the senate of the school through his office. All this we did all to no avail. After we waited for months without any response, we encouraged that our friends to take his mind off the exam and refocus on the next exam coming his way. Though, he didn't graduate with us, but he finished well from our department.

That's sad and this keeps happening in different schools due to the management error. I am glad your friend graduated well because problems like that could have affected him emotionally and mentally, preventing him from concentrating on the other papers.
