Diana looked worried. She thought a crowd would arrive in a few hours. Oh, she had invited everyone she knew in her circle.
Then she looked at the birds and said,
Diana chopped a few large onions, handfuls of flat-leafy, fresh sage, and celery, including the fresh meats and turkeys, of course.
Very "delicious" story about bringing the traditional American feast to Australia. It makes me very thankful that my own mom lives just a few blocks away and not 1,200 miles!
That's great that Diana brings the Thanksgiving tradition to Australia. It was fun moving through the day as she tried to time all of the foods to be cooked at the right times, and put special touches on the meal, all while anticipating her husband's arrival. It really gave me the feeling of being in her kitchen as she prepares a feast!
I know you enjoy being in others' kitchens 😁 Remember you came to my kitchen once (in Uptrennd while I was cooking a pizza and you said something about Ginger watching into my open fridge) Next day I did a full post about ginger and its benefits tagging you!
In this case, I did what I know best about the great traditions of Thanksgiving everywhere in the world. Thanks for all your support!
Is it your intention to make everyone hungry? If so, it works. This is a lovely story that gives a nod to the spirit of tradition.
Thank you for posting the story in the Ink Well community. We appreciate that you engage with other writers in the community.
My intention was to stay as close as possible with the tradition. This is what I know about the Thanksgiving feast and foods and how it makes everyone happy. Thank you
Diana is doing a wonderful thing by spreading Thanksgiving ❤️ I hope it catches on down there :)
Australia has a population of 25 million with people from 80 countries. People from America and England already celebrate Thanksgiving but everyone participates happily. Thank you! People celebrate all festivals together with each other.
That's a great way of doing things :) Are there any original Australian holidays?

Hello @sunnyag! I liked your story and the vivid portrait you made of the Thanksgiving holiday. You represent very well the way our mothers continue to teach us and accompany us from the distance, through their past lessons. Also, I could almost feel the amazing smells of the food cooking and hear the sounds of Diana's busy kitchen. It made me want to be invited to that feast! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks a lot, I believe all mothers are the same and the tradition goes on to the next generation. Thank you so much!
Hello @sunnyag. Had to have a snack after reading. You did make me hungry. As I read I thought of what the first Thanksgiving was supposed to be like. New, strange foods for the Europeans. Isn't it fitting then that Diana share her customs through food to her new friends?
Very nice story. Thank you.
Thank you, I know you mostly read stories at snacks time (Maybe after a quick nap) so if you had an extra bite that was none of my faults 😁 Diana did what she knew best on Thanksgiving day and she did it in style. Thanks for your beautiful comment.
Thank God that others brought turkeys because Diana's preparation would not be enough for sixty people.A story to be thankful for, @sunnyag. So much is eaten for us to live happily for a whole year.
Her friends had informed her in advance that they will bring turkey as gifts beside a bottle each of red wine. That's Australian tradition to contribute food and drinks to a party. Thank you!

The juiciness of this post made me hunger for food as I read through. There is always a way that food will get into our being, especially in such occasion as family reunion.
Nice work here.
Thank you so much, this post was all about feast and food so if you felt it juicy, I succeeded in my effort :)
😥😂 you sure did. I was salivating throughout as I read. It appeared I was present at the feast. It was believable.
I can't afford to say it was a true story because this is a fiction community 😄
This has got one of the best ways to write anything. I am not exaggerating. Like, if I was watching these events on a T.V show I would have tuned out. But the way it was laid down actually makes me feel kinda incompetent as a writer. It is someone cooking, but I read it with more focus than I do while watching action-packed stories.
That was well done, get it? I will show myself the door.
I am not sure @amirtheawesome1 you wish to turn off the TV or wanna watch Diana cook 😄 Thanks for your kind feedback on my humble effort!
You have got a captivating description of this week's prompt.
But I think ladies should always stick closer to their mum in the kitchen so as not to encounter challenges like that of Diana.
My mouth was becoming watery as I read.
A nice piece.
Diana's mom was just 12000 km away from her so she had to depend on her recipebook. Thanks for your feedback!

That's right although there was no shortage of food or drinks for the guests. Besides, as per Australian tradition, everyone brings something to add to the feast with them.
