Johnson a cute handsome young man with disability, he was born blind, all students with disabilities are basically called special student in the school, he his a 300 Level student. The first day Anna a 100 level student who find it a bit difficult to locate her way, met Johnson who was wearing a tinted glasses and wasn't holding his cane because he is familiar with the road that will lead to his faculty.
He walked so accurately that his disability will not be noticed.
Anna greeted him "good morning" she said calmly, he replied cheerfully "morning young lady" as he stand still without turning to her direction, trying to be sensitive if the voice is a familiar one, he was waiting for her to speak again, then she walked towards him and asked him " please how can i find my way to falcuty of education" then he replied " that is where I'm heading to, let's walk together". "Okay" Anna replied. As they walk Anna still did not noticed that he's blind and could not see her either, the roads, gutters and the potholes he do jump , without her been noticing, how he managed to pass through them.
Until when they got to the faculty and they met Gabriel , who was standing under a tree, and he banter " blind Man, where's your cane , or have you regain your sight" Anna was confused and take it to be joke within them, then Johnson replied " i was never blind, i can see you, don't you know i have four eyes" he replied jokingly.
Anna still confused, she said to herself does that mean a blind brought me to the faculty without my knowledge. Still queit, until when Anna greeted Gabriel and she caught his attention from his friend. "Ohh good morning" "how are you doing" Gabriel replied calmly. Anna replied "I'm fine".
Leave that girl alone, can't you resist beauty" Johnson said jokingly
"No wander you didn't come along with your cane", Gabriel replied. That was when Anna get to realize that Johnson is a blind guy.
She was mute and didn't alter a word, because she don't want Johnson to feel bad, Johnson said to Gabriel "please direct her to the secretary's office". Before she left she collected Johnson's contact and promise to come visit him on a weekend. Anna still surprised.
On a Friday morning Anna called Johnson they greeted on the phone and she informed him about her visit the next day. He told her cheerfully " come quick so that you will cook for me" she replied " okay is not a problem". "You are my guest and it will not be kind of me to allow you cook, so i will cook for you tommorow, then you will rate my food from one to ten". He said to Anna jovially.
After the call, she was amazed, how will a blind person cook , she murmured. "Wonderful God" she said loudly to herself, she planned to go early so that she will be able to witness how he will manage to cook and also locate is utensils and food stuffs.
Saturday morning Anna is already in Johnson's house, he first of all bought soft drink for her to take, then immediately he begin his cooking, Anna was just watching him, as he was preparing the food they were chatting, Anna said to him "i never knew you were blind the first day i met you. You don't look it". He replied smiling " must someone look like his condition"? She smiled and kept mute. Then he said to her " i am happy even with the fact i can't see, I don't feel bad whenever they said I have a disability, because my disability can't not stop me from achieving my goals".
Anna was impressed, she replied "everyone is entitled to happiness and i love your zeal"
After the food is ready, Anna tasted the food, she stirred at him and assume he's seeing partially , "wawww the food is tasty, good chef" she said cheerfully. He replied her "i can cook even more than you" he said jokingly.
When they were done eating, they decided to take a walk around, Anna was outside waiting for Johnson to dress up for the walk, the moment he comes out of the room, she discovered that he cleaned his shoe so well but one of the shoe was still having some little stain on it, then she called his attention, "your other shoe still have some stain on it" forgetting that he is blind, then he asked "is it the shoe on my right leg" she replied "well the shoe on the other foot" can't you see it". Johnson replied her jovially " i saw it with my four eyes, well the shoe on the other foot was thoroughly cleaned by a well sighted man" they both laughed and she help him wipe out the stain, then they went out and have fun.
That Saturday was one of Anna best day spent with someone with disability, because she learnt a lot from Johnson.
