SOMEDAY
I wish to spit out the bile
that has become a wanderer
On my mind
to spiral into a tornado
of worthless, beautiful and chaotic lines
tender as tamarind
troubled like the waves
these streams of empty words
Speaking of broken people
laughing, still in chains;
of betrayal
served in friendly plates
march over my parched throat
that these words may rain
into songs sung by
my grandmother in the heart of her hearth;
Ballads of birth;
Dirges of death;
O the transience of earth!
I will dance my feet sore
So the loquacious grounds of
my homeland may tell of
the wisdom and virility
buried underneath my vulnerability;
battled hail by confronting life;
Life and evil;
We clasped roses;
Roses with thorns
For it will be a bad poem
But someday,
I will say it all.
Algún día
Deseo escupir la bilis
que se ha convertido en un vagabundo
En mi mente
en espiral en un tornado
de líneas inútiles, hermosas y caóticas
tierno como el tamarindo
turbado como las olas
estas corrientes de palabras vacías
Hablando de gente rota
riendo, todavía encadenado;
de traición
servido en platos amistosos
marcha sobre mi garganta reseca
que estas palabras lluevan
en canciones cantadas por
mi abuela en el corazón de su hogar;
Baladas de nacimiento;
Jirones de la muerte;
¡Oh, la fugacidad de la tierra!
Bailaré mis pies adoloridos
Así que los locuaces motivos de
mi patria puede hablar de
la sabiduría y la virilidad
enterrado debajo de mi vulnerabilidad;
luchó contra el granizo confrontando la vida;
Vida y maldad;
Abrazamos rosas;
Rosas con espinas
Porque será un mal poema
Pero algún día,
Lo diré todo.

This was an awesome poem! It was honestly one of the best I've read here in a long time. I loved all of the juxtaposition between good and evil and the way you weaved the imagery into the metaphor. I'm very impressed.
