I've wanted to try my hand at creative writing for a while now. I subscribed because I thought it would be fun to see what other writers are writing about. I also plan on submitting my own short stories. This looked like a really fun community to start experimenting with my own creative writing ideas.

Nope haven't tried the writing challenge yet. That's actually what I seen that got me to sign up though. I need to get my nerve up now and also make a little time. Just like the post says though, maybe this is the push I'll need to set aside an hour a day to start writinng some short stories.
